When, if ever, do I get to where I can *submit* more than one quiz at a time? (I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to know this!)

If there is such a status, how do I earn it faster?

You will gain this ability once you maintain a good track record with the editing staff and submit a number of quizzes which require little-to-no editing upon first submission.

To earn it faster, take care with your quizzes. Show yourself to be a willing author and show that you not only are able to submit well-rounded, well-written quizzes, but you can learn quickly from the ones that aren't.

I swore you were able to do so- it'd say in your Author Central section.

[EDIT: Just checked- you are able to do so, Rimrunner.]

While more than one quiz may not go online in a day based on editor preferences, you can have more than one submitted.

YIPPEE! laugh

Thanks for checking, kyle - and the one you looked at was just what I was dying to submit!

This is what misled me:
copied from my Author Central info:
************************************
Your Status

You have 21 quizzes online. You may have up to 10 outstanding quiz projects at a time.

Awaiting Editor Approval

The following quizzes have been submitted to the editors and are awaiting approval. Max: 1. It may be a few days before they are reviewed.

BBB Bible Series: Deuteronomy - edit
************************************
Note the "Max: 1" above.
(But it didn't stop me submitting the second one when I actually tried.)
I had thought that figure would change and thus let me know when I was allowed to do more than one?

Hmm...it should've changed.
It should be fine, however- things check out on both ends of the system (ours and yours).

Kyle, we've mentioned this before; that number 1 doesn't always change for those players who submit two quizzes. Remember, Rowena also was able to submit 2, but her number remained at 1. smile

And I often try to submit 2 at a time, but as of yet, to no avail! lol. Someday, grasshopper, someday.

I'm not sure what the issue is with the number. If you ask an editor, they will likely be able to tell you if it's possible for you to submit more than one at a time otherwise it's as easy as trying.

Yep, it's pretty easy to try; it'll tell you "sorry, you can't do that". And you move on. lol. At least, that's what I keep doing until someday I can submit 2 at a time. lol. Save me one for personal quizzes, one for challenge titles. smile

The options are either to submit one quiz at a time or as many as you want (or none at all for some). You can only have one challenge quiz claimed at a time from the Author Challenge List, of course.

Yeah, but good, well-behaved little quiz authors like me will wait patiently until the system says we can before we even try, because we don't know the system's broken.
Unless the system's out to get me personally.
*darkly* Which is always possible. crazy

lol, Rimrunner. smile

Your quizzes are good; you deserve to submit 2 at a time or more. smile

The caveat, though, Kyle, is they can't be in the same category if you submit more than one, correct?

I don't think I will be able to, but could an editor check for me? smile I'd try if I had two quizzes ready; I need a kick up the butt to get into quiz-writing again!

I do believe you are able to Reeshy.

I do believe that they can be submitted to the same category however if this is done, editors will likely stagger their releases so that your quizzes don't dominate the main page. Many editors have a policy of one quiz online per author per day though this is up to their discretion. If an editor does not want you to submit more than one quiz to their category they will tell you.

That's great, thanks, Kyle! I'll have to try it the next time I write quizzes.

The rule in Movies has always been one quiz at a time, and remains so, just to save you some time smile

And it's probably best if you don't submit like 12 to the same category in the same day (yes, it's happened...) there's no way they'll all go online that day or even the next day. Of course it's up to the category's editors whether they just don't edit them for a few days or if they send them back and ask you to submit one at a time. But I have sent a bunch back to someone for this.

If you go to your Author Central page and click 'Works in Progress' it should be at the top under 'Your Status'. You can submit one at a time for now, Dave.

Just to add, if someone ends up submitting several quizzes and editors will only place one online per day, it'll skew the average wait time for the queues. If there are corrections to be made and the quizzes are to go online in a specific order, it could go on for a while- this is one reason why editors may reason against it. :p

My page does say 'unlimited' and I can still remember the sense of excitement when I realised I could submit more than one. I've only needed to take advantage once, when one of the editors was on holiday and the queues had built up because of it, but I still feel honoured to have the ability.

It's fantastic when you get a writing run, and produce a quiz a day for several days in a row, but submit the first one to a category with a week's wait!

It isn't...and that puzzles me. I've been here ten years at the end of this month and have over 50 online, but yet I can only do one at a time? I know who is behind that!

It's part of the way that the system is set up. We have authors with more quizzes online who can only create one template at a time. It all depends on how they fare in the queue. It doesn't mean your quizzes are problematic; perhaps you just haven't been as active as others in the queue. Although you've submitted a few quizzes every year (about three or four) for the past six or seven years, many of the authors with the ability to submit more are consistently prolific, especially nowadays.

It still doesn't say, and that's the point I am making. I even said that at 5:23am.

Here is the page you are referring to:

Quote:

Your Status

You have 53 quizzes online. You may have up to 10 outstanding quiz projects at a time.

Awaiting Editor Approval

You have no quizzes submitted for approval at this time.

Note: Most quiz rejections are due to simple oversights easily spotted and corrected in proofreading. In order to improve your chances of getting a quiz online, please take the time to thoroughly preview your work before sending it to the editors. Thanks!

Current Works in Progress

None.

There is no "Max:" anything. The only maximum anything is that I can have 10 templates going at the same time...unless I am missing something on my own page!

It would be up there with "You have 53 quizzes online. You may have up to 10 outstanding quiz projects at a time." Currently you are at a max of 1 submitted at a time, otherwise it will show that you have a maximum of unlimited.

I'm not sure what it would say otherwise- since the inception of the Author's Lounge I've had unlimited because of the red star.
