Just curious, because here in Alberta, many (non-commercial) cattle ranchers breed their stock so that they give birth in January. Their theory is that the severe cold kills most germs and they don't have to load up the calves on unnecessary antibiotics. Just of the many reasons I prefer to purchase meat raised by locals I know, rather than foreign farm "factory" monopolies.

The snow was in April. It's not unheard of for snow in April but it doesn't usually get as deep as this or last too long. These sheep are totally organic and don't have any chemicals at all. wink

Here's a black squirrel on my deck last September. If he's clever he's somewhere warm and dry right now!

That's a beautiful photo, Mike. I was at Phillip Island in January and I really liked the place.

Another spiky creature, this one carved from wood. Part of the Rhododendron Walk in the
grounds of Osbourne House on the Isle Of Wight. One of several, it gives details of some
of the animals than inhabit the grounds including red squirrels, now very rare in the UK.

It is possible that I posted this before, but a long time ago.

Carving of a swan overlooking the River Avon in Stratford, Ontario, taken when I was there in 2006.

That has a post-capture sepoa style filter added for extra spooky effect.

Love the carved swan, and Chavs, that is a great photo. Very Gothic, would grace the cover of any horror novel or look good on a film poster.

An even loftier view. Very few tiled roofs in view, if any.

The tower of St. Michael's church on Glastonbury Tor in Somerset, England. The rest of the
church was torn down in 1539 by Henry VIII, angry because he failed to get tickets to see his
favoUrite minstrels who were performing at Ye Olde Glastonbury Festival.
Something like that anyway...

Thank you. No roaming took place and I didn't try to get to the top of the tor either. For one thing the sun was very low in the sky, sunset not far away plus I was on my motorbike and climbing up there in leather jacket, trousers and boots was not an option. Did it once before, never again! smirk

Wow. Zorba: did you manage to capture a semblance of the Sword of Gabriel along with your picture of the church? : )
