oh dear. Are they in NC temp water? You need to come on a fishing trip to the northern West Coast with us. There are 10 of us going in August, you and the wife would be more than welcome (don't bring food, we always have tooo much). I'd post a pic of my Chinook that qualified as a "Tyee" but I can't do that til someone fixes my puterthatdied.

Jakeroo, those were in Alaska. I think that if they'd been in NC waters, they'd be parboiled before we caught them.

Carrying on with the castle theme, a picture of Criccieth castle.

Dot: looks like a bit of a blustery day (said Eeyore), but nice capture. What are those white buildings in the lower left?

Jake, the white buildings are the houses in the street that lead up to the castle. You can see by the lamp posts that I had to raise the camera high to capture the castle. The castle itself is on a hill that sticks out to sea. A good vantage point to see enemy's coming.

Another building atop a hill, this is St. Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, Ilfracombe, North Devon.
I can't remember how windy it was on the day but the flag suggests that there was some.

Cranes are birds, and those from Chavs have a black and white pattern, so here's a black and white bird

This bird was singing a beautiful song and allowed me to get very close to take this picture.
