First an apology to Sypher and Sagebrush for posting completely off topic in here.

Over in the Tavern Vendome has a thread regarding breast health in women. He is offering to donate a dollar to charity for every woman who does a brief test then posts in the thread to say that they have taken the test, Linda is offering to match it.

Perhaps some of you women don't normally visit the Tavern, hence this post in this thread. Come on ladies, let us really take Rich and Linda for a bundle of cash in a very good cause.

Thanks for reading this, thank you even more if you respond in the Tavern.

Sue

Do the bridges still have to be in existence today?

Another thought - are words like viaduct or suspension that just mean a specific type of bridge invalid?

Not an invitation that I receive everyday from a gentleman I will TRY to get back, my daughter returns tomorrow and if she doesn't kick me off the computer and hog the telephone line I will see what I can do.

I might be back this week!

Somali...Excellent questions !! I don't think Decriptive terms of the bridges will count. By all means, mention what type of bridge it is...just for information purposes.

As far Bridges that no longer exist....Well, if they have gone - So will your points for the entry !! lol

Sypher-I have to challenge your example. LOL. The London Bridge is no longer in London. It has moved to the new location of Arizona, which is a State in the United States. Do I get my 10 points for the challenge? LOL

Good morning Sypher. I'm going to challenge the viaduct part of your entry, as that is just a type of bridge. See Q & A above in this thread!!

Nope...I put the type of bridge underneath my entry...
That is the actual name of the bridge...

The check is in the mail, Mama!

As you so succinctly put it, I really did 'shoot myself in the foot' on Friday with my entry, and was overjoyed to see that I actually won....there is justice after all!

Friday was the day from h***. I brought my car to Sears for a new battery Wednesday night and while we were there The Greek had them put on new windshield wipers. Well, the good news is...the battery is super! The bad news is, the cowboy mechanic broke the passenger side wiper arm by forcing the old wiper off with a WWF twist! Now I had a car with one wiper, and another impending snowstorm....'no prob' they tell me Thursday....we'll have it overnight FedEx from Ford. Friday a.m. I arrive---no wiper! They blamed FedEx, but a little voice inside my head tells me that perhaps someone 'forgot' to order it? I now trust my little voice more than ever, as a phone call this morning brought an apology and 'we'll definitely have it overnight for you'! The sun is out today. Tomorrow, Tuesday, it's supposed to rain uncontrollably....either the wiper arrives, or the car with the ready-to-go-now battery can't be driven anywhere!

Need I say it? BagLady, you´re a star..a perfect 10, my friend. Congratulations on your latest victory!!! And as for the mechanics...give ´em hell! Ten lashes with a wet noodle for every day they keep you waiting should do.

Sypher dear--have any grey areas been established yet? I´d like to clarify this before I post a doozie later. LOL

You have my most heartfelt sympathies, BagLady - I think all mechanics should be taken out and hanged by their tail pipes!!!!! I have yet to meet one who is worth his salt. My saga involves paying to put a new engine in a Dodge Caravan with 43,000 miles on it because the dealership had no record of our ever having changed the oil there (and of course all the oil changes had been done at the dealership), and the mechanic threw away all of my receipts from the glove box when I took it in, and then denied having found them.
I did worry about you Friday - I knew only a life-or-death matter would have caused you to make such an error - either that or a sudden passionate desire for Somali to win!!!!

Sypher, thanks for the info on the Sydney trek - my son is going for three weeks to spend time with all those Ozzies!!!! Outback camping, Sydney Harbor bridge and rapelling down the opera house, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, participating in a marine widlife study - I don't know whether I'm worried about his safety or just envying his opportunity, but that bridge looks mighty high!!!!

Well, Sypher, he's pretty worried about it, cuz he's scared of heights, but I am hoping that peer pressure gets to him, because I would hate for him to miss the view!!!
