Last year, Collingwood beat St Kilda in the second Grand Final, after they played a draw the first time round. Hopefully the Saints can go one better and win their first flag since 1966- it has been a loooong 45 years. RulesThey are the same as last year, in fact I copied them from the 2010 thread! - One point a correct pick, nothing for a loss. - Default if you forget to pick, wooden spoon score. - Tiebreaker will be HoF v Spoons. Largest margin wins, or if the margin is equal, total HoF count wins. - Deadline will be the start of the first game each weekend- usually a Friday night, with the occasional Thursday. - Late starters will start on the Wooden Spoon score. In 2010, ozzz2002 led home two fellow Aussies, in gtho4 and ozfei. Can they do it aagain, or will a 'foreigner' spoil the party? Add your name to the list below, and good luck! The silliness has started already, with a draw in the first round. Sydney threw away a 24-point lead, and were lucky to get away with a draw against the Dees. St Kilda led all day and got done by a point by Geelong, Fremantle pipped Brisbane and the Weagles just tagged the Kangas.
ASA picked 6/8 out of the shambles to lead the pack. One of our newcomers, 22crows is in equal second, and our other debutante, chogobad is part of a whole heap of players on four points.
LeoDaVinci missed the first game, and as a result, he picked up the first spoon for the year.

Firstly, welcome to conorharvey- hope you have fun here! On the downside, he picked up a spoon. 
ASA has been joined on top by another of our newcomers, 22crows, who picked 6/8. Sypher also got a HoF and as a result he zoomed up from tenth to third.
I think I mentioned somewhere that draws are not very common in AFL. Please ignore that silly comment as we have had two in two weeks. St Kilda could not kick straight and let Richmond share the lollies. West Coast surprised most of us by beating Port Adelaide in Adelaide, and Sydney overcame quite a large deficit to run over the top of the Bombers. The new team, Gold Coast, got an absolute hiding from Carlton- hopefully they will be competitive as the season goes on.

Both leaders scored a spoon with 5/8, but still are on top of the pile. There are six players right on their hammers, just waiting for an opening.
gtho4 picked up a HoF award with an attractive 7/8. He only missed on the Fremantle victory over Adelaide.
At the other end of the table, LeoDaVinci and ozzz2002 both scored wooden utensils, too, and are battling for last spot with conorharvey.

Another round, another draw! I have not seen a start to a season like this, and I have been watching footy for many, many years. Three draws in the first four rounds in without precedent.
In our comp, ASA and 22crows both picked all but the draw. Last round they both scored spoons. If they get the same scores next week, I am going to tell Teacher!
chogobad also scored a HoF and holds down third spot on his ownsome.
ozfei picked 4/7 to take home this week's only spoon. |

The new kids on the block, Gold Coast Suns, had their first win ever, and they are still celebrating. The losers, Port Adelaide, wil wear the shame for a long, long time.
ASA and 22crows both scored the same, AGAIN! I guess it makes my job a bit easier- I just copy and paste. They have now put a bit of a margin on the rest of us- three points in front of a whole pack of players in third.
Howie72 and BxBarracuda both also scored a HoF and moved into equal third.

The home teams did well this week with six of the seven wins going to the locals. Unfortunately my team played away and got beaten by Adelaide. Essendon kicked a mammoth score against the Suns. Collingwood and Geelong are the only unbeaten teams to date.
ASA and 22crows both came back to the field, due mainly to N-Bomb getting a perfect score. He is now third by himself.
Sypher and BxBarracuda dropped a few spots with scores of 4/7.

ASA is still on top and has been from the first ball-up, but now he is joined by N-Bomb.
22crows dropped to third as a result of spoonerism. LeoDaVince emulated the 3/8 score.
ozfei picked 6/8 to score her first HoF with chogobad and BxBarracuda scoring one, too. All three moved up a couple of spots. Special mention for BxBarracuda- he is probably the first person on the planet to actually tip the Gold Coast Suns to win!

N-Bomb has broken away from the pack and now leads. However, his margin is only one game and there are nine players within three points of him.
Howie72 picked 7/8 and zoomed up from eighth to third, and slipstreaming him were illiniman72 and ozzz2002, who now share seventh spot.
ozfei followed up last week's HoF with a lowly 3/8 and grabbed the only spoon for this week.

In a topsy-turvy week, almost everyone changed positions. ASA is back in the lead after N-Bomb bombed and picked up his first spoon. ozzz2002 and illiniman14 also picked poorly and tumbled down the ladder.
BxBarracuda went up from 11th to fifth by picking 7/8. He only missed the Richmond upset over Essendon (ASA was the only one who picked that game).
Geelong squeaked home against an unlucky Carlton, St Kilda finally won a game, West Coast Eagles demolished the Doggies and Sydney lost their first home game to Hawthorn in about eight years.

Another week of 'all out, all change', mainly precipitated by ASA spooning it with only 2/8. He dropped from first to seventh. Only the bottom two active players retained their spot.
22crows picked 6/8 and zoomed into equal first. Howie72 and N-Bomb joined him.
Other HoF awards went to LeoDaVinci and ozzz2002.
It is still very tight with TEN players covered by only two points- one slip can be very costly.
As fas as the footy went, there were seven away winners, which is quite unusual. Sydney pipped the Kangaroos, St Kilda are finally showing some form, and Hawthorn and Collingwood are still the teams to watch. Gold Coast were in front of the premiers at half time, but the Cats stormed home (I wonder what the coach said to them during the break!). Port Adelaide and Brisbane both won, and none of us picked either result.

Lots of changes again this week. 22crows forgot to tip and slipped from first to fifth. Five players tipped 6/8 and all went backwards. That score would usually be good enough for a HoF award, but this week, SIX players scored 7/8! No-one picked the upset win by Melbourne over Essendon.
LeoDaVinci scored his second straight spoon.
paper_aero is the only player that does not have a spoon OR HoF award.
