Szabs: Gorgeous car!
Jane: I adore ruins. I tell my husband that all the time LOL
Ren: Wow. I had no idea they used the "real thing" in the Harry Potter movies. I guess I thought they were CGI-generated or something lol. Thank you so much for posting that picture!

This is Nottoway Plantation in Louisiana. Built in 1859 at a phenomenal cost of $80,000 (I have no idea how much that would be today), it was one of the few plantations to survive completely intact during the Civil War. When I visited it, it was a historical museum, surrounded by sugar cane fields and large oaks. Unfortunately (in my mind anyway) it was converted into a "resort hotel" not too long ago and a lot of vegetation has been removed and most of all the original furnishings and personal belongings of the Randolph family (I guess they got in the way of modern wedding photos). They've even added a swimming pool (which hardly fits with the period) and a fountain or two, plus some very unoriginal looking outbuildings. Sigh.
