I have posted a number of photos of Mollie who belongs to my son and his partner but only a couple of our own Lady who we got 8 years ago from the local cat and dog shelter. She is mainly Labrador with other bits mixed in.

These plants I found next to a river bed, does anyone have a clue what they might be, I have never seen them before.

I don't know what the plants are but I have a pot of scirpus which are similar but green except have side branches as well. It could be from a close family member though.

Szabs: if your dried up "river" contained any salt water (similar to a marsh), then that plant could be Glasswort (Salicornia)

In the fortnightly theme thread Flopsy talked of how great some of the works of modern masons are. The gargoyles in Gloucester Cathedral were needing to be replaced and a French mason was invited to tackle the job.

szabs, I agree with Jakeroo. If it is glasswort, the pink colouration may be an indicator of how much salt the plant has absorbed.
They can be burned to yield soda ash, an ingredient in the making of glass and soap.

We have some of those plants here too and they are around a salt lake we have. Interesting.

Does everyone know my son has to do school at home through School of the Air? Most of the time he is with me doing the work that is sent out and nearly everyday, for half and hour, he gets on the computer and has a lesson with his teacher who is about 250kms away. All the kids can see the teacher and hear all the other kids. This today was a bit different .. through the wonders of technology the kids were linked up with another classroom hundreds of ks away where we could see them but they could only see Conor's teacher but it was amazing how it all worked.
Anyway! Here is the computer and the classroom (and why yes! It could do with a tidy up .. holidays start next week so will do it then lol)

Another one from Foxton Locks taken last Sunday. This is from partway down the flight looking towards the bottom. Foxton is the longest 'staircase' lock on the English canal system.

White Azaleas

Thanks all for the reply on the plant, it must be glasswort, as it´s in a marsh area that is quite near to the sea, and I am sure there is plenty of salt in the ground.

Bhs - beautiful azaleas, ours are just starting to come into bloom here.

Bhs, I've seen bottle trees like yours in the Australian outback but unfortunately I don't have any photos of them. It did, however, remind me of this one which I saw last year in the Northern Territory when we were travelling by bus from King's Canyon to Alice Springs. It's literally out in the middle of nowhere, or the centre of Australia, across the road from the "international bus station".

Thanks to Ren and Auntie for the Hebe plant ID We have got 3 more plants flowering but I know them daffodil, daisy and dandelion if anything else other tan the roses flower I could struggle to identify them.

Oh yes, Monica looks very purposeful.

I met this puppy on the weekend. He greeted me by putting his paws on my shoulders
His coat is woolly, like a lamb and he's a sweetie.

Not a lot is known about this guy, but of course he is a medieval knight. The Church where he sleeps is in Woolpit, Suffolk and that dates from 1016, so he is quite a bit old.

Next to him is his Missus, presumably. She looks a bit frail.
