When my parents came to see the baby, they watched some PBS and "Doc Martin" came on. I have only seen a few episodes so far, but it's great! It's a bit like "house", a show I also like. I've started watching episodes on Netflix since they have 4 seasons on it via streaming. Has anyone else watched this British show?

I love this show. We've watched all the episodes (to-date). Apparently, the next set of episodes are in production.

Can you imagine having someone like Doc for your doctor, or boyfriend, or fellow resident?

I've never actually watched it, but a friend of mine (sadly now deceased) lived in Port Isaac in Cornwall where it's filmed. In addition, my cousin looks just like Martin Clunes who stars in the show, but hates being told that.

So how many seasons are there currently? I can find 4 on Netflix... does that mean there will be 5 total after this one is in production?

I just watched the episode where the old man smelled, but it turned out he was walking around with his dead pet in the bag...

I think another season is being filmed but the quirky secretary is not returning as she is busy with her own shows.

The next season starts March 8th. This show is my new favorite! Can't wait to see how Martin handles the care of a baby.

I felt the last season was a season too far. It wasn't as funny and 2 of the great characters were missing. Anyone else agree?

This is one of my favourite shows and I have all the DVDs that are available here.

One of my close friends has a son who lives in Port Isaac where it is filmed and we watch carefully to catch glimpses of his house. My friend brought me a thimble from Port Isaac for my collection and it is one of my most treasured gifts.

I've been a Martin Clunes fan since "Men Behaving Badly" and I love his documentary shows too.

Absolutely agree with you mountaingoat. There wasn't much humour and I felt the Doc had become quite unlikeable. Didn't enjoy the last few episodes very much. Hope they can get it back on track for the new season.

I liked seeing his old girlfriend (the redhead) though - it provided such a contrast with who we saw him with in the town.

I'm excited there is a new season and hope it comes to the US soon!

Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie and the Doc Martin prequel were so inferior to the series.

Yes, we thought so too. But once we 'removed' the memory of the series from our minds, they were actually pretty decent as stand-alone movies. But it was pretty hard to do so!

What also made me wonder was why she was with him. They couldn't even have a conversation. Then he would be an unemotional boofhead and she would get angry. What did she expect from an unemotional boofhead?
