Q44. I was born on 14-Jan-1946, the second of three children. My father was a lorry driver. We lived at 163 Longmead Drive, Edwards Estate near Nottingham. I attended Burford Infants School, Whitemoor Junior, and High Pavement schools. My mother died of cancer in 1963, my last year at high school. Next year I failed my admission test to enter Leeds University. Having finally gained admission I started Uni in Sept-1965, and I boarded with Mr and Mrs Copley at 164 Wetherby Road near Wellington Hill, outside Leeds. My wife married her first and only boyfriend on 05-Nov-1966. After graduating, my first job was at Todmorden where the River Calder, which runs through the middle of the town, was once the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire, and gave the town a split personality. Today the town is administratively in Yorkshire, but the postal district is Lancashire, which is where their cricket team play. My wife and I have three childfren. I am now a guest at Her Majesty's pleasure. Who am I?

Dr. Harold Shipman, who now appears to be our most prolific serial killer ever. He may have totalled more than 100 victims.

42. The Dismissal of the Whitlam Government, a government elected by the people, by the then Govenor General, Sir John Kerr, an unelected, Representative of Her Majesty, The Queen of England on 11/11/75 is still a hotly debated subject in Australian political circles .. Amongst these conventions, was the old standing tradition of filling a Senate position that had become vacant due to the untimley Death of a sitting member, with a member nominated by the party whose member had passed away .. This very situation arose in 1975 in Queensland when a Queensland labour senator passed away. Rather then follow precedent and allow the Labour Party to appoint a replacement, the then Queensland Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Peterson elected a different replacement .. Who did he send and who had the Labour Party nominated to the Premier? karmaloupster 11-Sep-2000 8:42am

the State of Queensland, by a resolution of it Legislative Assembly, nominated and sent Albert Field to Canberra as the replacement Senator for their State, to fill the casual vacancy created by the death of Senator Bert Milliner, a member of the Australian Labor Party. Mal Colston had been nominated as the replacement Senator by the ALP. In their infinite wisdom the people of Australia, by referendum held on 21-May-1977, amended section 15 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia so as to remove the ability of the House(s) of Parliament of a State to select, as a replacement for a casual vacancy, whoever they wished. amen

Answer to Stumper #Q33..

These two champions also have two common sires, one on the sire-line of both horses, and one on the dam-line of both horses. What are the names of these two sires? gtho4 - 09-08-2000 12:01 AM

SAGEBRUSH QUESTIONS

To help those under 50 points of second place leader, these people will score double for these and it won't count against their daily limit. Although it won't count as your daily, you can answer only one of these bonus questions per day. This offer is good until they get within range or The Blowout / Catch-up Round (last 5 week days of the month/game).

All others may answer, but for 20 points and it will count as your daily.

Name the artist for these songs:

S 5. For what it's worth
S 7. I don't wanna cry
S10. Rockin' to the rythm of the blues

Good Luck !
