roger on Q9 kl, sage you're on

on the census the answer, it's still in play so let's leave it till sage posts your answer in the dead pile, hopefully withe the calcs so we can see how you got to your answer .. the big splash was abandoned due to the inclement weather, and anyway I was still in mourning after the 1-2 result at home againsy Man City .. you're right tho, it's gonna count bigtime at the end of the season .. with maternity leave try the old fashioned way .. just switch off HPay and LSL accumulator triggers (like a ternmination) until they return, and then someone can manually alter the accumulated leave figures and get them up to date, and switch it back on again (do screen prints at both ends) .. why do clients expect programmes to do everything? lol

Viduka's had emergency dental work and should be flying out as we speak, is that right Paul?

That's right gt. He chipped a tooth against Man. City.
Kewell's out until after Christmas, as I'm sure you're now aware so that's amassive blow for us.

Don't get too upset about the Man. City result, we always have a home defeat early on in the season. Apparently Man. City are really bad but we just had an off night.

We'll just have to show 'em in Barcelona next week!

yea man, bring on Barcelona! we've still got a game in hand and are only 3 points behind the leaders Newcastle and relax, I won't watch the Euro game live ..

kl, these are the seven Canadian PMs

4 .. Sir Charles Tupper 1896, lost the general election of 1896
5 .. Arthur Meighen 1921 and 1926, lost the general election of 1921, lost the general election of 1926
6 .. John Turner 1984, lost the general election of 1984

GTho..u wouldn't like an SAP system installed would u?..oh how I lay in bed at night dreaming of a project manager at a site that would take such a common sense approach to their maternity leave..I tell u i could run the whole gov leave system more reliably via spreadsheet....ty for the Canadian PM's i got lost after the first 4 and just hoped there had been no more..,

Sage..in reference to Q14..the Q was

Who is the odd person out in this group and why?
Dweezil Zappa
Ziggy Marley
Liv Tyler
Drew Barrymore
karmaloupster - 09-05-2000 02:01 PM

To which Partsedude responsed , "Drew Barrymore is the only one not an offspring of a rock and roll or rock or reggae star."..

This is a correct statement so the points should definetly go to Partsedude, it my fault for not ensuring that other "odd one out" links didn't exist..for the record the answer I had listed was that the other three are all Vegetarians, whilst Drew is a Vegan...Sage, can u correct this when u get a chance this and remove the Q from the available list...also the same is to be done for Q9 and Gtho4, details in a previous post..

Chessart..well done on the leap year q, thought that one might stick..wtg

GTHO4...

The cricketer with the +50 and no average is not the guy I was looking for , but if he fits the bill then u get the points...

Sage, there seems to be at least 2 correct answers to q 41 so can you pay GTHO4 answer and remove the q... thanks..

For the record GTH04, the guy I was after was the exceedingly unlucky and disgracefully treated, Stuart Law,...53 n.o. against Sri Lanka in 94 I think and then not another run..not even a tour!..

KL,

the page I was looking at was English test batting averages (not New Zealand) and it shows AJ Tudor played 1 match, 2 innings (both NO) 99 and 32, and no test average. Just went back there after reading your post and the page is titled New Zealand in England Test Averages 1999. Lower down it has GI Allott (NZ) with no average as well (2 matches, 3 innings, 3 NO total 8 runs) which, I suspect, means that the page is tour averages not career averages. Stand by .. I've just found the career averages for England (multi screens are handy) .. Tudor has a career average (it is 53.3).

Now, what we have is this - my answer is in fact not correct, and you've posted your answer (Stuart Law's only game was on 08-Dec-1995 against Sri Lanka, it was 54*), which takes the question out of play. Now what do we do!

sure u didn't sneak a peak GTho4...what a woeful 2nd half...ahh to lose to Tottenham really is painful...and to top things off my hours poured into Harold Shipman are in vain..gj PE..and GTHO4, isn't it funny how things balance out in the end...in the end I think Mal was more painful....now I'd never say that Joh was even close to justified and it borders on blasphmey to say this but u got laugh at how he would be revelling in his original reasons for not sending Mal, "he's not worthy of the seat"...lol

relax, I didn't watch the match! you're getting used to SO .. hours trawling thru the inet finding an answer you beauty then some other mongrel, sorry, nice bloke, goes and posts the answer cause you've exhausted your bloody quota for the day .. this game is sage's idea, he made it up back in January or February and I watched it for a month or so to see how it worked, and it works, remarkably so .. the way Colston ended up is (indeed), ironical to say the least.

The events of 11-Nov-1975, and the years leading up to it seem like yesterday, I remember them well, very well. Over the next decade or so I bought every book that came out on it, and I'm still none the wiser over the shenanagans that went on when the coalition lost office in 72 after 23 years in government, they just couldn't handle it, and broke quite a few conventions in the 3 years in which the ALP sat to the Speaker's right on the government benches. When Whitlam was sacked by Kerr he didn't ring his colleagues in the Senate to inform them they'd all been dismissed, and tell them don't put the appropriation bills up again for a vote. Instead, Whitlam went back to the lodge and had his customary steak for lunch!

I'll leave you with one thought, find the reply the Queen sent to the Speaker of the House, when he informed her that her representative, Kerr, refused to see him when the House passed a motion of no-confidence in PM Fraser and his government. She confirmed that the G-G has sole responsibility to carry out the duties of the Crown (whilstsoever she was absent from the Commonwealth), which meant her sole function as our Queen (whilst she was in the UK) was to appoint the G-G on the advice of her oz PM. Then we move on to exactly what is the constitutional monarchy we have, the republic debate, and why we still do not have one of us as our Head of State ..

One of the many mysteries Gtho..the G-G was to take advice from PM and not a former Coalition Attorney General, and yes it still amazes me too those events even though I was only 7 I still remember then vivadily..
\like you I have read and watched recounts about that time...and I am still amazed by the landslide victory to Fraser within a month, how that could happen and how that wouldn't happe today...then I remember that in excess of 1 million (count them Proportional Representation supporters, that's 1,000,000) chose to use their one say they get every 3 years, and ticked the box next to the Hanson Phenomemn..with economic policies such as trade isolation, and printing more paper money to solve any cash problems we may have due to the slight drop off in trade..gee was it Germany in the 30's when they were wheelbarrowing money around to buy bread such was the use of it...still one million voters said that they would indeed get australia back for australians by voting Hanson...oh and then I recall that only one state could manage the required majority to have an Australian as head of state..one..the others said that they would prefer to have a member family of European ethnicity, with the next Head of State being dependent on who was born first..,...maybe it is just a lull..many folk I know are currently probably freezing on a street in Melbourne as they try to at least support what they believe in and make some facts known whilst they have the audience..tonight I heard that 2 of them, very close friends, were hospitalised due to over zealous and unprovoked force by officers of the Victorain Police , acting under instruction to ensure that the Economic Forum is undisturbed...reminds me of those early 70's years..who knows...

Sage, Chessart...in regards to Q35, I posted an answer last week as shown below:

posted 09-08-2000 02:53 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer to Daily #Q35

Q35 Who is the understanding wife who once said, "Look, my husband loved people, and half the people in the world are women. So of course, I know that he's gonna be falling in love with a lot of women."?

Answer: Claudia (Lady Bird ) Johnson, wife of LBJ....

..I have searched the net again and still only come up with one quote the same as the question and that was by Lady Bird Johnson, as shown below in an excert from the Richard Shenkman Page..

"....Their marriage was a lot better than I ever suspected it was because
he's constantly on the phone with people and saying, `Well, I gotta
check with Lady Bird about this,' and, `Let me--let me get on the
phone with Lady Bird.' And he's constantly calling her all throughout
the day, time and again, time and again, making you think that he must
have had a pretty good marriage, even though he cheated on the side
and she knew that he cheated.

She has a great line. You know, she--she said, `Look, my husband
loved people, and half the people in the world are women. So, of
course, I know that he's gonna be falling in love with a lot of
women.'.........

If there is another quotee(?) who you are after I apologise..

Thanks

KL

What happened on Q19 regarding Clockwork Orange?
my answer wasn't included in the recap, and no new dead stumpers?

Also, for this month is Sage considered the number 1 spot?
I want to know if I qualify for a bonus song title question..
