I'd have to put "Raging Bull" on my list, and an old (probably forgotten) TV movie called "Brian's Song". "Bull Durham" was pretty awesome, too, I thought. "Field of Dreams" as well. When it comes to classic oldies, I'm always a sucker for that Lou Gehrig biopic "The Pride of the Yankees". I still haven't seen "Invictus", Copago ... but you're another person I know, then, who says it was a truly remarkable film. I need to rent that one next time I'm out ...

A lot of those already mentioned, but "Slap Shot" is right up there near the top.

Caddyshack? 'Chariots of Fire' is on my list as is the mini-series 'Bodyline'.

Yep, and the movie that I have seen at least 25 times is number one with me all-time, "My Cousin Vinny". Second for most watched is "Naked Gun", and third is "Forrest Gump". Didn't you play Bubba in that movie?

I have both 'Naked Gun' and Forrest Gump' in my DVD collection, and I did not even get a small walk-on part in either!

Would have to agree with Copago and Ozzz....."Invictus" was a great film and I was just thinking of "Chariots of Fire" and the "Bodyline" series myself. From those that I watched, would love to add "Jerry Maguire", "Ali" and "Space Jam" to this list.....and oh!, "Lagaan" from Bollywood should be up there too (the last 60 minutes or so of this 3 hour film is all cricket! :)) "Chak De India" is another good sports movie in Hindi...

"We need a new manager to take us to the World Cup. Now I've phoned around Italy, France, Spain. But no-one wants the job. So you know where we're going to have to start looking." "Scandinavia?" "England." "Oh Christ."
If you want a deep insight into English football and the English (and who wouldn't, after all?), there's no better place to go than the hilarious mockumentary 'Mike Bassett: England Manager'. S'on Youtube. (*Bad Language though!*)

Very good film, not relly sports film but you can see why i mention it
The Wizard (1989) with Fred Savage
This boy goes on a trip to attend a major video game competition with other young people and I think it involves the original NES Nintendo. Really fun kids movie from when I was a kid.

Bang the Drum Slowly starring very young Robert DiNro, Danny Aiello, Vincent Gardenia and Michael Moriarity. It is from the early 1970's and if you can get a copy it is well worth your time.

"For the Love of the Game", I know, another Costner baseball movie, but well worth the cost of popcorn. "Remember the Titans", Denzel Washington, based on a true story, High School American football and some old southern racism thrown into the mix. "American Flyers", a biking movie, not many of them out there + it's got Kevin Costner + he's got health issues. "Cinderella Man" very good boxing movie w/Russell Crowe. "Million Dollar Baby" another good boxing movie w/Clint Eastwood. "Slap Shot" for rude crude ice hockey, w/Paul Newman. and on and on, everybody is going to have their faves, depending on their favorite sport.
