The scoring system is the same as last year's race : Kentucky Derby 2010 which is the same as the Grand National last month : Grand National 2011 Details on this year's field: http://www.kentuckyderby.info/kentuckyderby-contenders.php http://www.horseracingnation.com/polls/current/kentucky_derby_2011_contenders http://www.drf.com/news/2011-kentucky-derby-contenders-ranked-graded-earnings The final race field, and post positions, will be announced 3 days before the race on Wednesday 4th May: http://www.horse-races.net/library/derby11-contenders.htm http://www.chiff.com/a/kentucky-derby-2005-previews.htm Race time: this year's race is on Saturday 7th May and the race starts at 6:15pm ET which is 4:15pm FT time, 2215 hrs GMT, 11:15pm London, 8:15am Sunday in Sydney Deadline : tips close 15 minutes before they jump at 4:00pm FT time. We won't know the starting field until the post positions are announced (the barrier draw and fnal acceptances in oz). One site says the post positions are announced at 12 noon ET on Wed 4th May and this one says it's at 4:45 pm ET Wed 4th May. It doesn't matter which one is correct, we'll both be in la-la land!
