Well...What a close game last week brought...But alas Sagebrush was bumped off the top after leading all week, to see Karma steal home in the last play !!

Well Done Karma...At last you have managed to come first and not second !!

Anyway...Revenge is sweet and us NON-US players probably found it hard with the topic of Baseball...so to even it up...it is now the turn of Cricket !!

Enjoy the game !!

Sypher Monday and Friday nights I find it hard to get to my time slot, any chance of me posting later or earlier for those 2 days?

And one question, just international teams? or small county teams in England too?

Just wanted to apologize to Linkay for disappearing the last two days without notice in game 42. Been having major problems with both my server and the phone line so I haven´t been around much at all. Hope I didn´t inconvenience you too much, and am truly sorry for not being able to give you a heads up.

Sypher--hopefully all will be back to normal for next week´s game. If not, I´ll let you know so my timeslot can become available...maybe Caerr might need it.

Sypher....Do the players have to be current players or can they be some of the more famous ones from past years, like we did in baseball? Thanks.

Congrats to karmaloupster & Sage...eek, only one point!

To answer two questions at once....Any Cricket player from any country at any time, But they must have played for a professional team and not your average school team.

English County teams are ok....

Caer you can post later on those two days...just let the person in front of when you are going to post, that you are going to.

Fortunata...it will take more than a week to lose you time-slot. Just join us when you can....

Ty Sypher, Baglady..wtg Sage and Baglady for a very close game..gj all...a week without work and my first Snake win...
I think there's something in that for all of us....

It's just turning Cricket season here so a very timely choice this week, just a couple of queries Sypher....if the cricketer has a title can this be included (ie Sir..., or Lord, or even Prince..), and what about nicknames?...can these be included in the three word post? For example, if the letter left to use was "R", could I play Ritchie, Greg "Fatcat"...the notoroius Queensland and Australia opener..just clearing up possible trouble spots, don't want to get caught out on a sticky wicket...

AN EXPLANATION..????

CRICKET: As explained to a foreigner...

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they're
all out, the side that's out comes
in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get
him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides
have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

..........Phew..!!!!!

Does this clear things up !!??

Just about - but you forgot to mention the rather splendid tea which is served, and I don't mean a drink although they have some of that too.

Hi Smiley.....great to have you back!

Judging from the Sypher & PARTSDUDE entries, we've got our work cut out for us, and it's only Monday! lol

I am so sorry, BL, that I didn't remember to warn you last week - my company gave us Columbus Day off! Anyway, after looking at this week's topic (about which I know less than nothing) and seeing the entries that have preceded me today (which are centuries long and impossible to pronounce), I'd better squeeze in the next free time slot or I'll be in the sub-base4ment on this week's scores. Look out everybody, Mama's coming whenever there's a break in the action. Fore!!!!

Linkay~ Don´t worry, I think I´ll be able to play this week and leave you some interesting letters. Although, judging by the entries so far and comparing them with my list...I won´t be out to win, just posting will be enough for me! LOL And after reading Pinhead´s explanation, I feel confident enough to say I know much less about Cricket now than I did yesterday.

Sypher dear..looks like I´m in this week. If the troubles start up again--trust me--you will all know...grrrr!

Welcome back Smiley!

Congratulations to Karma and the 2nd & 3rd base contenders on such a close run last week!!!

Sypher, can you please explain the origins and meaning of the term "sticky wicket" to me? What´s that all about? LOL
