....answering as Stumper #1 10.31.00....answered in error yesterday as a Stumper.......

Q107. On the thank you pages in front of the prologue to this book, where authors thank their wife, dog, friends, family and a cast of colleagues sometimes bigger than Quo Vadis (and quite rightfully so), the author of this book says: "The project lasted for five years and demanded work on a scale I could never have hoped to achieve alone. Some 850 people were interviewed, and storage of the hundreds of thousands of documents required the addition of an entire new floor to my house".
The last paragraph in the book reads: "If there is a moral here, it is perhaps drawn by future Vice-Presdient Walter Mondale while taking part in the Senate probe of the CIA and FBI in 1975. 'The lesson we learn from history,' he said, 'is that we cannot keep our liberty secure by relying alone on the good faith of men with great power.' " The author is an investigative journalist who has written ssome fascinating books, one of which was about JFK. What is the name of this book? (or identify the subject matter of this book)
