SAGEBRUSH QUESTIONS

To help those under 50 points of second place leader, these people will score double for these and it won't count against their daily limit. Although it won't count as your daily, you can answer only one of these bonus questions per day. This offer is good until they get within range or The Blowout / Catch-up Round (last 5 week days of the month/game).

All others may answer, but for 20 points and it will count as your daily.

Name the artist for these songs:

S17. Soul Shake = Joe Joe Scott

Good Luck !

Here are some titles to start of this month's game. There will be one rule change. A player with a score of 70 points less than the second place total score will receive double points (40) and not have it count as their daily limit. The reason for the change from 50 to 70 points is that 70 (40 bonus + 20 daily + 10 stumper) is the max they can receive for that day.

d 3. This duo's first hit song was written for them by member(s) of The Beatles and why? karmaloupster 06-Nov-2000 9:59am

  • A World Without Love Peter & Gordon, written by John Lennon and (now Sir) Paul McCartney
  • Peter Asher & Gordon Waller: at the time Paul McCartney was living at the Asher household, and was dating Peter's sister Jane. When P&G won a recording contract EMI (where The Beatles were also recording) didn't think any of their songs were good enough for an “A” side. They were helped out by The Beatles.

    Answer to Daily...

    S14 Rebel Rouser

    Answer: Duane Eddy

    New Q....

Q13. In November and December of 1835, the Moriori people, peaceful hunter-gatherers who had lived for thousands of yaers on the Chatnam Islands, 500 Km east of New Zealand were wiped out of exsistence. Two boat loads of Maoris from the mainland slaughtered the island's population with little effort as the Moriori had never been faced with hostility of any sort, let alone sharp weapons. The Maoris that were responsible for the massacre had never known of the existence of the Chatnam Islands or the people that dwelled there until shortly before they set sail. How did the Maoris learn of the existence of this island and it's friendly people?.

Ans- During the Maori war of 1835 two tribes, the Ngati Tama and Ngati Mutunga of the Waiarapa, were being harried.
They had to find refuge, and some Maori who had crewed aboard European ships brought stories of an island that was abundant in food - called Wharekauri in Maori, the Chathams in English - the home of the Moriori.
