It took the last 2 matches of this year's Copa America on the field to "play to form" but we finally have a worthy winner... Uruguay, winning the Copa America for a record 15th time! They comfortably beat Paraguay 3-0 in the finals after leading 2-0 at half-time. Peru took the 3rd spot, comfortably beating 10-man Venezuela 4-1 in the play-offs. Over here it was a Howie72 show all the way in the final round! He picked the whole lot this round and bagged 2 extra points (for a solo pick and for a perfect round) to finish 3 clear at the top of the heap after the whole tournament promised a scrappy finish! Well done to one of FT tipping comp's most deadly finishers for adding yet another feather to his cap  srini701 and BxBarracuda finished in a dead heat in everything  They ended up with the same total, same number of HoFs, and same number of bonus points (thanks to srini's bonus point in the final round)....so subject to gtho4's final approval, have decided to award them both joint second place on the podium. Rossian climbed up pretty well over the last couple of rounds to finish mid-table, as did Sypher. After threatening for a couple of rounds, George95 also settled for a mid-table position. But the most spectacular fall in the final round and in the final table rankings, has to be that of dg_dave. After being in podium position right through this topsy-turvy tournament, he imploded in a brilliant manner, scoring zilch in the final round and sliding all the way down! Certainly didn't expect that!  Our Final podium placings then: 1. Howie722. srini701 and BxBarracudaI apologise if the scoring caused any confusions and for the really short turn-around times for a couple of rounds. I also sincerely thank all of you for putting up with me and for taking part in the tournament so patiently! 2015 is pretty far away, so here's hoping you will all be there for the next edition as well...  |

Well done, Howie, Srini and BX. I'm always happy to settle for mid table respectability, especially after a disastrous start and a spell in the cellar.
