In some versions of Firefox, including the British version, going to the about:config page to change a setting would generate a warning page which was headlined "Here be dragons" - a warning which always made me smile and which was more in the spirit of Firefox than the American version's "This might void your warranty". However since I installed FF4, and now FF5, my dragons have gone and I get the boring warranty message. Any idea how I can get my dragons back?

I know how to turn the message back on again if you opted to turn it off but not how to change it from 'This might void your warranty!' to 'Here be dragons!'.

I can only think that perhaps the US version of Firefox might have been downloaded at some time rather than the British one. This being put forward as a possibility because Firefox 5 still gives the 'Here be dragons!' warning message for me, as did Firefox 4.

Searches haven't helped with information on how to change the message, other than coming across a page that showed it was embedded in a bit of code that goes to make up Firefox.

I suppose downloading Firefox 5 English (British) from the main Firefox download page and installing over the top of the existing installation might do the trick.

So now you won't have to worry about voiding the warranty, only being chomped by dragons. smile It's surprising how many didn't take the 'warranty' message as humorously as it was intended to be.

Well, I did consider claiming on my warranty for missing dragons but I've been using Firebird Firefox for so long I think it expired. The warranty that is, not the dragon. wink
