Great sunset Copago, the Chrysler building is a favourite of mine but I doubt I will ever get to visit it.
I was not sure whether to put this picture in the Weather section calling it Rain On The Way. The building is a wine bar and unlike a lot of premises around it has retained the outside even on the groundfloor,



There seems to me to be an atmosphere of the Adams Family about the picture

One thing about Hampstead is however often you go there there are always new angles to take. It's the same for everyone I know who goes there with a camera. This used to be one of the better pubs, and when it went broke it was bought by developers for flats, but they promised to keep the pub downstairs, which as expected they didn't, it's a gym now and they had the cheek to keep the name on, so presumably tourists (the area attracts many) are disappointed on a daily basis. The bus is a 210 which has always passed here, but only recently been put on double deckers although uses a good few minor roads on the route.

Winter brings camellias - this lot from my daughter's garden.

Beautiful flowers! I wish winter here brought flowers, instead of snow.

It's always nice to see a cat so similar to my own now with Precious, it's keeping the memories alive.

Another plant that flowers in winter is Australia's Correa.
I have several varieties with growth habits ranging from small upright shrub to sprawling ground cover.
Flowers may be greenish, creamy white or pink to red.
I'm currently watching a White-plumed honeyeater feeding from the Correa just outside my living-room window, but as soon as I reach for my camera, it's gone!

The flowers are such a pretty pink colour.

Well yesterday I posted at 11:59, so this is a new day! A photo of a pretty lily.

If you ever go to a photography class, they will tell you about the rule of thirds, about the horizon over water being level, about taking the eye through the image, and all sorts of other things. What they don't tell you is that a seagull will always come to sit on the pier.

Flopsy that photo is how I would wish mine turned out, so gorgeous and the seagull makes it. The moments when I gasp in amazement are arriving thick and fast in this forum.
The subject of this one DID make me gasp. The quality of the pic doesn't , I am a bad carpenter blaming his tools but my camera is really crappy. Anyway one of our students relaxes from her exam revision with origami. Like this. (gasp)

A Melbourne metropolitan train leaves Newport railyards en route to Williamstown.
The pipes in the foreground delivered oil from Newport Wharves to surrounding petrochemical installations (many now decommissioned).

I saw this drycleaners shop in NY. It's located opposite the United Nations
complex, hence the clever name.

Fuente de Piedra Lagoon is a wetland situated in the Málaga province of Spain, it is home to one of the largest populations of Flamingo's in Europe. The lagoon is fed by underwater springs that pass through mineral salt deposits, so the lagoon is saline which is the perfect environment for the birds to breed. The water is less than a metre in depth which is ideal for them to lay their eggs, if the lagoon dries out too soon the flamingos will desert their eggs. Every year in the summer there is a celebration and kind of festival in which thousand of volunteers go and put identity rings on the newly hatched birds. This year over 6000 birds where hatched.

This is one of the aircraft being displayed on the deck of USS Intrepid on
the west side of Manhattan. If memory serves, it's an A-7 Corsair.
