We still have another week to go until acceptances close. With 19 acceptances in so far, one of the relegated players from last year's comp has been excluded (see 2nd column below). When the next player signs-in we'll see BxBarracuda join DanielPoulson in the stands. All of the players who finished last year's comp in positions #1 to #13 have signed in for another dose except one .. if KrivoyRog [A5] signs-in before the deadline, wwe84 will be excluded .. and that will complete the field of 18 runners, as no-one else can qualify for this year's FT-PL comp. The exclusion and relegation rules are: If more than 16 apply [it's 18 this year, as last year's comp was a field of 16], preference will be given to the tipsters who sign-in first, in this sequence, class A to class R: [ A ] the 13 tipsters who finished #1 to #13 in last year's comp. [ B ] players who've participated in any season long tipping comp, from start to finish (except class R). [ N ] newbies and anyone else (except class R). [ R ] the tipsters who finished #14 and lower in last year's FT-PL comp (it's our de facto promotion and relegation system). FT-PL Exclusion Rules
For the record, the exclusion rules at the end of this season's comp, for next year's FT-PL, will be:[ A ] the 14 tipsters who finish #1 to #14 in this year's comp.
[ B ] players who've participated in any season long tipping comp, from start to finish (except class R).
[ C ] players who participated in any *two* of the other tipping comps and finished on the podium in both (except class R).
[ R ] the four tipsters who finish #15 to #18 in this comp.
[ S ] newbies and anyone else. If all class A players x14 sign-in and more than four class B players sign-in, the class B players will be ranked by pts according to podium finishes: 5 pts for gold, 3 pts for silver, 1 pt bronze (if none have finished on the podium, ranked by highest position attained). When players sign-in for the 2012-13 comp who are not class A, they must state which comps they've completed!

A truckload of players scored 2 or 3 goals, but only one of the 9 games ended in a draw .. paper_aero banged in 4 goals and lost; and a few of us scored 3 goals and won! wwe84 is our leader on GD .. he had the hide to pick a draw at Anfield! Last season's FT-PL comp was an epic two-horse race between LeoDaVinci and paper-aero .. the rest of us saw dust on the horizon. They were equal 1st or swapped 1st and 2nd place from week 9 all the way to the finish post .. and it was a deadheat when they crossed the finish line. LeoDaVinci won the title on GD. Looks like they're still feeling the after-effects of their epic battle, as both of them lost their opening fixture in this year's comp. LeoDaVinci and paper_aero play each other next week! Although the number of runners has increased from the 16 who played last year up to 18, relegation-promotion was retained. Copago and DanielPoulson were excluded by relegation, and KrivoyRog missed the 31st July deadline .. that's 3 spots open; plus two by expansion from 16 to 18 = a total of 5 spots open. The new entrants this year are: Dizart, George95, N-Bomb, rxbigdawg and wwe84. Welcome aboard! DanielPoulson is back for another dose after BxBarracuda gracioulsy offerred him his spot .. superhooppete lodged picks but joins KrivoyRog in the stands, as he also missed the 31st July deadline. The FT-PL fixture list round-by-round is back on the previous page near the top (it's the second post in this thread). There are 38 rounds in the FA Premier League but only 34 rounds in the FT Premiership. We're skipping two FA Cup weekends (quarter-finals and semis), plus the two rounds over the NY weekend .. aka we pick every weekend the FAPL is on except for three of them. Next week - Round 2 of 34

Superhooppete, this particular tipping competition is different from all the rest in that it has a set number of people involved in it and they have already been determined for this years competition. There is another competition thread for the FA-PL, which tips the same games as this competition and is open to everyone. See the quoted post below by the manager of this tipping competition gtho4 for further information regarding this competition. Three more days, plus an hour or so, and acceptances close.
