LeoDaVinci retains the lead and extends his margin to 3 pts as not one of the first *seven* from last week won .. paper_aero in 8th place won and flew up the table into 3rd place. He's now won five straight! He was running 15th five weeks ago.
neither DanielPoulson nor George95 lost;
this terminated their losing streak at three straight. Sypher and N-Bomb have now gone 5 games without a win.
the 9 players in 3rd to 11th are still separated by 3 pts.
rxbigdawg lost to extend his streak of four losses to five;
he went shopping yesterday and bought a rabbit's foot.

Do you think the rabbit's foot will help?
I had a scary experience with the Ouija board in high school. We had the people in contact with the board blindfolded and one other person silently writing things down while a crowd watched... Kind of creepy what it came up with... Call me crazy but I'm convinced those things realy do come in contact with something and it isn't nice.
Looks like I need a HOF all by myself to get a win! LOL.

We had a bucket-load of draws this week .. five of the nine FT-PL games were a draw = 10 players scored a point each this week. Two of them finished 8-8 to equal the all-time record for most goals in a drawn game. Our tail-ender rxbigdawg was one of those ten: he scored 8 but failed to beat dg_dave for what would've been his 2nd win of the season. Sypher, George95 and rxbigdawg won their first HoF this week, plugging three more gaps in that column; leaving illiniman14 and PaulE still looking for their first weekly HoF award. The top-of-the-table clash LeoDaVinci v illiniman14 (1st v 2nd) ended up a 6-6 draw .. illiniman14 fell back to 3rd and LeoDaVinci saw his lead cut to 2 pts. paper_aero is now in second place after yet another win (he was running 15th six weeks ago). He's now won six straight! Four more and he'll equal Sypher's all time record of ten straight wins. It's as-you-were for everyone in the bottom half of the table from 10th to 18th, and for LeoDaVinci out front .. the rest of us all swapped places (aka no-one running 2nd to 9th last week kept their spot). dg_dave has now won three straight weekly HoF awards.
the 5 players running 2nd to 6th are separated by just 1 pt.
rxbigdawg didn't lose, ending his streak at 5 straight losses;
he has the pleasure of playing paper_aero next week!
FussBudget lost again to make it 3 straight losses.
Sypher and N-Bomb have now gone 6 games without a win.

Last week saw five of the nine FT-PL games end in a draw .. this week there's just the one, a low-scoring 3-3 draw between two of the six wooden spooners. LeoDaVinci lost and is replaced out front by paper_aero, who's the 7th player to have a go out front. He won again to make it seven straight .. rxbigdawg was #7 on the receiving end of this week's dose. Three more and he'll equal Sypher's all time record of ten straight wins .. next week sees dg_dave as #8 wwe84 in 10th place and the tywo tail-enders were the only players to retain their spot from last week. the first four spots are spearated by a single point. the 7 players running 5nd to 11th are separated by 3 pts (one win).
Sypher and N-Bomb both won, ending their win-less streak at 6 games.

LeoDaVinci was the only payer in the first four to win. He extends his lead out front to 4 pts. He was the only player, along with the two tail-enders, to retain his position from last week .. the rest of us moved or down a spot or two or, in the case of N-Bomb, three spots (he went from 5th to 2nd).
Four upsets this week meant most of us were looking at a maximum of 6/10 (one game was picked by no-one, one was a solo pick, and two were picked by two players). Three players won this week's HoF award with 6/10 .. for PaulE it was his first! That completes that column in the Form Guide, and leaves us with three players still looking for their first wooden spoon for the season: illiniman14, N-Bomb and srini701. Three of the four players who were bringing up the rear last week won.
George95 was this week's top scorer with 7/10. He won again to extend his unbeaten run to 6 games and climb up to 13th place, which is where he was back at the start of the season in week 2.
rxbigdawg ended his horror run of seven games without a win a fortnight ago. This week he beat mid-table wwe84 to again extend his unbeaten run .. it's now out to 3 games.
dg_dave won again to make it 5 wins in 9 games .. before those nine he'd registered just one win over the first 7 rounds (he started the season with four straight losses).
LeoDaVinci retains first spot by a 2 pt margin.

The LeoDaVinci show continues: he was late with his picks and scored zero for the first 4 games, but still won! He extends his lead out front to 4 pts, the biggest margin all season.
Four players picked 6/10 and none of them won .. they played each other for two 6-6 draws! There were 5 woodens spooners with 3/10 but none of them played each other and they all lost.
rxbigdawg ended his horror run of 7 games without a win three weeks ago. This week he played out a 5-5 draw with Howie72 to once again extend his unbeaten run .. it's now out to 4 games.
dg_dave won again to make it 6 wins in 10 games .. before those ten he'd registered just one win over the first 7 rounds (he started the season with four straight losses). At the end of the first 7 rounds he was last 13 points behind LeoDaVinci .. he's now 12 pts in arrears in 13th place.

Here's this week's instalment of the LeoDaVinci procession, sorry, The LDV Show! He's this week's top scorer (with ozzz2002), it's his 7th weekly HoF for this season, he's the first to bang in 100+ goals, he's led the way for 10 of the last 12 weeks, and he's still out there 4 pts in front of second. The two tail-enders both lost and have now drifted back to be 7 pts behind the pack. Put aside LeoDaVinci and the two tail-enders, and the remaining field of 15 players are neatly split into three groups of five: the five behind LDV are separated by just 3 pts (one win), ditto the next five, and the final five are separated by a mere 2 pts. LeoDaVinci has now won 4 of the last 5 games.
rxbigdawg lost to bring an end to his run of 4 games undefeated.
szabs won, to end her run of 6 games without a win. DanielPoulson is now 11 games without a win.
ozzz2002 won to end a run of 3 straight losses. Sypher and wwe84 have now lost 3 straight; and they both fell to their lowest position so far this season.

LeoDaVinci lost but retains his lead with just a small dent in his lead, as 2nd placed illiniman14 also lost. He's replaced by srini701, who's this week's top scorer with N-Bomb.
Apart from the leader out front, just two players retained their spot from last week.
rxbigdawg is no longer bringing up the rear. He beat DaniePoulson and they swapped places; to end a streak of 11 straight wks supporting the rest of us on his shoulders.
srini701 has now won 3 straight.
rxbigdawg has won 3 of the last 6 games;
before that he'd won just one of the first 13 games in the season.
szabs won last week to end her run of 6 games without a win;
she won again this week. DanielPoulson has now gone 12 games without a win. last week Sypher and wwe84 both fell to their lowest position so far this season. This week saw repeat performances .. new low-water marks for the season for both of them.

I did lodge tips though... I was on the run getting to a flight and put on the FAPL week 21: Use these for the FT-PL too, please. It won't help anything other than my GD though...

Everybody lodged picks this week; it was a full-house. LeoDaVinci was held to a draw which sees his lead shaved again. It's now down to 2 pts (a lead change next week is now statistically possible). At the other end, DanielPoulson beat fellow-cellar-dweller rxbigdawg to end a run of 12 games without a win. They swapped places, again. N-Bomb, George95 and szabs were the only players to win last week and then win this week's reverse-fixture (wwe84 paper_aero & gtho4 were their opponents, who lost both games). N-Bomb wins his 3rd straight game to move into 2nd place;
he's now won 5 of the last 8 games.
szabs has also won 3 straight games. wwe84 has now lost 5 straight games. George95 has now lost just once in his last 10 games and moves up to 11th place; back in week 17 he was running 17th, aka 2nd last. two weeks ago week Sypher and wwe84 both fell to their lowest position so far this season. Last week was a repeat performance .. and this week was another encore. They both achieved new low-water marks for the season, again.
Sypher did it in style. He scored 0/10.
There are no games this weekend as the FA Cup resumes. The next round is mid-week at the end of the month : Tuesday 31st January. |
