I guess that I excelled myself by coming last, some one has to be it so it might as well be me. Not an outstanding week, first I don't read the rules for the week, I posted a double-worder THEN if that wasn't bad enough I didn't read that I wouldn't be able to find a snake beginning with 'I', took ages to find one with hardly any letters! Friday I was SO shattered that I fell asleep in front of th TV.

At least I can't do any worse this week, apart from scoring less.

This is the 1:30pm - 2:00pm Time Slot I believe.

This gives me time to get the kids, unpack the lunch boxes, throw away the cut fruit and sandwiches that have not been eaten, oversee the hungry children raiding the fridge due to rumbling stomachs, pour a vodka or two and tell hubby via ICQ what he will be cooking for dinner when he gets home from work.

One thing I have always noticed is how players can twist an easy subject like Christmas into a free-fir-all adjective bonaza !!

The topic is Things related to Christmas !! That doesn't mean you have to have to word Christmas in the bloody entry.

Example - Singing Christmas Carols....DOH !! Singing Carols would be fine...we alrady know it is christmas....

So, let's have a look at the entries....

Auschic - An excursion...Oh purleassseeee...What's that got to do with Christmas...I could always go to Hawaii...there is my Christmas holiday....

Chelseabelle - Sensational....I suppose that is the longest adjective you could find....again...Decorations would have been just fine....

Baglady - I need an explanation on what this entry is all about...

Sorry, if it looks like I am being picky...but and no pun intended, but where is the Christmas Spirit !!

##### NEW RULE ##### - No Adjectives...

For the players that have....you will not get the points...This game is stuff related to christmas....and that is exactly what I want to see, not over the top entries that has been cannibalised to get more points....I won't accept this as an answer....

I've got an adjective.....dubious.... come on now aus, there is clearly a missing, albeit small but critical piece of syntex here which rules it invalid... I mean they have obviously shortened at the bottom so it fits on the calender...accept your fate like so many of us before you that have been snaked by the king of snakes on the first day and gracefully take the zero...lol....anyway I thought it had to do with Xmas...what exactly is a Chrit-mas excursion... a sydney Buzz word for a some bad acid?....doesnt sound very festive to me...lol

Well, Ebeneezer-Sypher, any other words of good cheer on this holiday topic? This time I think the problem was with the SnakeMaster and not with the players. The topic was ill defined--you simply asked for 3 words relating to Christmas. You didn't exclude adjectives, and you didn't say that the word "Christmas" shouldn't be part of the entry. In fact, you gave so few guidelines, the entire topic was one big grey area.

Why allow 3 words, or even 2? If you want to cut down on adjectives, why not let each entry be one word?

As to my entry---Christmas decorations are distinctly different than other types of decorations. For one thing they can involve very elaborate outdoor displays (which is not true of other holidays or celebrations). Homeowners and businesses often compete with each other to see who can put up the most sensational displays.So, I can defend all three of the words in my entry. I was, indeed, thinking of "Sensational Christmas Decorations", and had I merely put "decorations" as my entry that would not have captured what I had in my mind.

Why don't you clarify the topic, rather than berate the players who had very little to go on?

If you eliminate all adjectives you couldn't have entries like Three Wise Men or Candy Canes, etc. Do you just want to eliminate superlatives?
