The week started with a wild game as Texas A&M came flying out the gate again and faltered down the stretch, this week losing to Arkansas, who outscored the Aggie's 25-3 in the 2nd half and won 42-38. Illinois took the Land of Lincoln trophy by coming back against Northwestern for a 38-35 victory. Ohio State was almost shut out at home until they got a late passing touchdown, but they still lost the game to Michigan State 10-7. Kansas State slowed down the Baylor offense, outscoring them 10-0 in the 4th quarter to get a 36-35 win. Auburn beat their 2nd top 25 team of the year by edging South Carolina 16-13. Wisconsin made a big statement in their quest to repeat as Big 10 Champions by welcoming new kids on the block Nebraska to Camp Randall by handing them a 48-17 drubbing. No fun in the Swamp as Alabama went in and rolled over Florida 38-10, not allowing any Gator scoring following the 1st quarter. Air Force won the first battle of the Academies this year, partly due to a Navy penalty on their overtime score which led to a missed extra point that was the difference in the 35-34 game.
BxBarracuda takes his second HoF in a row by scoring 14 and vaults all the way up the leaderboard to tie gtho4 for the overall lead. He was tied for eighth just last week and in fourteenth the week before. We all got 3 games right and 3 other games were only missed by returning spooner ozzz2002, who had 6 right this week.
We have our first underdog bonus points of the year as 10 1/2 point underdog Auburn went into South Carolina and topped the Gamecocks 16 - 13, showing that even without last years star players they are still a force to be reckoned with. BxBarracuda, dg_dave and gtho4 were the recipients of the underdog bonus points.
Upset winners were Michigan State, Clemson, Kansas State, Auburn, Air Force and Ole Miss.

Oklahoma takes the Red River rivalry, teaching a lesson to the Freshman quarterbacks from Texas 55-17. Georgia Tech stayed perfect by beating Maryland 21-16. Notre Dame has now won 4 in a row to improve to 4-2 by beating Air Force 59-33. Florida has been taken way back down to earth after their 4-0 start as LSU gives them their 2nd consecutive big loss 41-11. Penn State wins a defensive battle with Iowa 13-3. Auburn took its second loss of the season, this time at the hands of Arkansas 38-14. Nebraska avoids back to back losses with their biggest comeback of all time, scoring the last 27 points to defeat Ohio State 34-27.
11 of the first 12 winning teams played at home and 6 of those games were picked by all of us. Through 15 games there were only 2 road team victories and we had already topped our most correct as group for a week ever. 7 of us had already earned perfect pick bonus points, and 3 others could have already earned perfect pick bonus points but had only one underdog amongst their tips. This weeks HoF of 15 was impressively shared by LeoDaVinci, N-Bomb and Sypher. Even the spooners hit double digits this week, as the spoon is shared by ozzz2002 and themonarch with 10's.
Gillyharold says I'll take 2 bonus points as he is the first to get the combination solo and underdog bonus points for his pick of Wake Forest to upset Florida State. Paper_aero seemed a lock to join him until Nebraska made their huge comeback against Ohio State. Five tippers got their first bonus points this week, leaving only George95 still seeking a bonus point. Leading the convoy of perfect pick bonus point winners are LeoDaVinci, N-Bomb and Sypher with a near perfect picks of 15 out of the possible 16. Dizart, gillyharold, gtho4 and srini701 had 14's, while BxBarracuda and illiniman14 got 13's to receive their perfect pick bonus points. Dutchy50, George95 and rxbigdawg each had 14 right, but only picked one underdog, making them not eligable for a perfect pick bonus point.
As well as Wake Forest getting the upset, two home underdogs also won, Oregon State, who got their first win of the season and ranked Kansas State also won as underdogs.
Records broke this week are, total correct for the group with 224, previously 204, best group percentage for the week with .823, previously .794, most bonus points as a group 11, previously 8, most perfect pick bonus points of 9, previously 7, gillyharold ties the record for most bonus points in 1 week of 3, BxBarracuda ties the records for most weeks in a row with perfect pick bonus points with 3 and most weeks in a row with a bonus point with 4.

Michigan State's defense had some bad intentions and it cost them some foolish penalties, but it mostly meant bad news for the Michigan offense, as the Spartans took down the Wolverines 28-14. Miami (FL) had their A team show up this week as they beat North Carolina 30-24. Utah went into Pittsburgh and got a much needed win 26-14 win to even their record at 3-3. Texas A&M didn't melt down in the second half this week and decisively defeated Baylor and the potent Bears offense 55-28. Oregon State grabbed their first win last week and were favored at home against BYU this week, but the victory went to the Cougars over the Beavers 38-28. Oklahoma State kept their record clean with an impressive road victory over much improved from last year Texas 38-26. Iowa out duels Northwestern and wins at home 41-31. The Auburn defense and some muffed punts kept Florida feeling the burn as the Tigers defeated the Gators 17-6. Fresno State shut out Utah State in the 2nd half and put up the last 17 points to get the win 31-21. Oregon fought through injuries to their Heisman hopeful running back and quarterback to defeat Arizona State .
There were only 16 picks lodged by us for the BYU at Oregon State and Colorado at Washington games, as those games were each missed by a different tipper on their posts this week, which gave those tippers the away team by default. BxBarracuda, Dizart, Dutchy50, Howie72 and rxbigdawg share the HoF with 13. This week it is gtho4's turn to keep ozzz2002 company in the cutlery draw, as they share the spoon this week with 9.
No underdog or solo pick bonus points this week. The 5 tippers who shared the HoF received the only perfect pick bonus points of the week.
Miami (FL), BYU, Utah, Ohio State, Auburn and Fresno State all pulled off underdog wins this week.

Oklahoma State handled Missouri 45-24. Clemson stayed perfect with a win over North Carolina 59-38. Kansas State also liked the number 59 and put that up on instate rival Kansas, taking the game 59-21. Georgia Tech has gone into full on skid mode as they have lost their second straight after starting 6-0, this time losing to Miami 24-7. Purdue keeps Illinois on a losing track as they also lose their 2nd game in a row after starting 6-0 by a score of 21-14, and if there was a 5th quarter the Fighting Illini would have won, as they put all their points up in the 4th quarter. East Carolina always seems to pull a big upset each year, this one is against Navy as they take the victory 38-35. LSU keeps rolling, this time right over Auburn, even with 3 key players suspended by the team for the game, 45-10. California handles Utah 34-10 and Tulsa defeats Rice on the road 38-20. USC upends Notre Dame, ending Notre Dame's 4 game win streak and improving their own record to 6-1, with a 31-17 win. Wildest win of the weekend goes to the Michigan State Spartans who upset the Wisconsin Badgers on a hail mary, which got batted around, caught on the 1 yard line, called no touchdown on the field and the replay booth reverses the call for a 37-31 Michigan State win. Texas Tech has pulled off the upset of the year so far as they went into Oklahoma and held on for an impressive 41-38 victory.
All of us got 6 games correct. Gillyharold takes the HoF this week with 13. Leader BxBarracuda takes the spoon this week, which means the streak is over. This allows N-Bomb to share the top spot with Bx .
Dutchy50 pulls the 2 for 1, by getting the solo and underdog bonus points for East Carolina's victory over 12 ½ point favorite Navy. Gillyharold gets a solo pick with USC over Notre Dame, then he and dg_dave get a solo pick bonus point for the Michigan State win over Wisconsin, and to top it off gillyharold gets the only perfect pick bonus point of the week.
Michigan State, USC, Purdue and East Carolina were underdog winners this week.

Undfeated Kansas State had a real test against Oklahoma this week and didn't pass it as the Sooners beat them 58-17. Clemson was also undefeated until they ran into Georgia Tech this week and took the loss 31-17. Georgia got a huge comeback win over rival Florida 24-20. Michigan State comes off of its big win last week and gets run over by Nebraska 24-3. Wisconsin comes off its heartbreaking loss last week to again lose via the long pass in the final minute of the game, this time to Ohio State 33-29. Oklahoma State stays perfect by taking down Baylor 59-24. Stanford comes back and wins in triple overtime over USC 56-48 to also stay perfect. Texas A&M loses another first half lead and this time loses to Missouri in overtime 38-31.
Dizart takes the HoF this week with a 13 moving him into 2nd place and gillyharold takes the spoon with 7. N-Bomb grabs the season lead by 2 as BxBarracuda failed to reach double digits in picks again this week and dropped to 3rd.
Gillyharold continues his bonus point streak by getting a solo bonus point and an underdog bonus point for the overtime win by Missouri over Texas A&M. Themonarch gets a solo pick for Boston College over Maryland and ozzz2002 gets a solo pick for Ohio State over Wisconsin. Dizart grabs the only perfect pick bonus point of the week.
Boston College, Ohio State, UCLA, Georgia Tech and Missouri are this week's upset winners.

The Big 10 was upset central today as first Michigan goes on the road and loses to Iowa 24-16, and then Nebraska falls at home to Northwestern , much to the delight of at least a few of the ESPN happy hour crew members who hopefully hadn't given up on the Wildcats season just yet, by a score of 28-25. Army jumped on Air Force 14-0 in the first quarter but were held scoreless after that and the Falcons put up 24 second half points for the 24-14 win and retained possession of the Commander in Chief trophy for another year. TCU tops Wyoming 31-20 as they get ready for the big match-up against Boise State next week. Cincinnati holds of Pittsburgh for a 26-23 win. Arkansas overpowers South Carolina 44-28. UCLA spoils a late comeback by Arizona State with a late touchdown 29-28. Rutgers scored the last 14 points of regulation and the only points in overtime to defeat South Florida 20-17. Baylor barely holds off a 25 point 4th quarter from Missouri to get the victory 42-39. In an amazingly played defensive battle the LSU Tigers went into Bryant-Denny stadium and beat the Alabama Crimson Tide in an all field goal game 9-6. In an incredible slugfest Oklahoma State defended their home field against the resilient Kansas State team and kept their BCS Championship game hopes alive by coming out on top 52-45.
This week we all got 4 games right, which include both teams with Oklahoma in their names, and we all missed the Louisville upset victory over West Virginia. LeoDaVinci takes his second HoF of the year with 13 right and dg_dave and Howie72 share this week’s spoon with 8.
Gillyharold gets a solo and underdog bonus point for his pick of Northwestern over 17 1/2 point favorite Nebraska and he is the first tipper to ever break 10 total bonus points for a season. Ozzz2002 also racks up another solo point for the UCLA win over Arizona State. There was a chance for more underdog bonus points this week but none of had faith in 13 1/2 point underdog Louisville, who took down West Virginia today. LeoDaVinci grabs the only perfect pick bonus point of the week.
Rutgers, Iowa, Northwestern, UCLA, LSU and Louisville are upset winners this week.

In the battle of top 10 teams and for control of the Pac-12 North Oregon went into previously undefeated Stanford and outclassed the Cardinals, taking the game 53-30. TCU proved they are still the elite of the non-automatic BCS conference teams as they went and did something that no one has done in 65 games, by getting a victory on the Smurf Turf of undefeated Boise State and crushing the Bronco's hopes of playing for national title this year with a 2 point conversion with 1:05 to play and a 36-35 win. The hot teams in the Big East went cold this week as West Virginia topped conference leading Cincinnati 24-21, and Pittsburgh beat Louisville who were riding a 3 game conference win streak 21-14. Texas ran into a tough Missouri squad and took the loss 17-5. In SEC action Georgia blew out Auburn 45-7 and South Carolina defeated Florida 17-12, which means if Georgia can beat Kentucky they will take the SEC East title this year. In took 4 overtimes but Kansas State was able to defeat Texas A&M with a touchdown following an Aggies field goal by a score of 53-50. Michigan bounced back from their lost last week with a 31-14 win at Illinois. In other Big 10 news Purdue got an overtime win over Ohio State 26-23.
This was an abysmal week for us and our prediction skills for the games, and we broke our previous lows. Dg_dave and rxbigdawg tied for the HoF with 11 this week and rxbigdawg was penalized 1 point for late tips. Ozzz2002 took the spoon this week with 4 right. Dutchy50 on the back of 10 right and three bonus points vaults into the season lead.
Underdog and solo bonus points for dutchy50 for the upset of Air Force by Wyoming, while dg_dave and ozzz2002 get the same bonus point set for the TCU win over Boise State. Dutchy50 also adds another solo bonus point for the Purdue victory over Ohio State and rxbigdawg joined him in that pick.
TCU, Wyoming, Purdue, West Virginia, Oregon, Michigan, Missouri and Pittsburgh are upset winners this week.

In an early game Michigan took care of business at home against Nebraska by a score of 45-17. Wisconsin came back from an early deficit against Illinois to win on the road 28-17. Penn State also went on the road to Ohio State and got a 20-14 win, setting up a winner take all game at Wisconsin next week for the first ever Leaders division crown in the Big 10. Notre Dame has quietly improved to 8-3, with a win over Boston College this week 16-14. Miami (Fl) became bowl eligible with their 6-3 win over South Florida but due to ongoing disciplinary issues, they have chosen not to go to a bowl game this year. Arizona won the instate rivalry game against Arizona State by a score of 31-27. USC came out guns blazing against Oregon and held on at the very end for a 38-35 win. Baylor all but took Oklahoma out of the Championship discussion, even if they beat Oklahoma State next week in the instate rivalry game, the Bears scored with 8 seconds left after the Sooners had just scored with 55 seconds left, and got the win 45-38.
This turned out to be a week of big point spreads and everything was going smooth until 3 of the last 4 games led to solo points as the vast majority of us missed the games. Gillyharold had a great week as he took the HoF with 13. Ozzz2002 took his second spoon in a row with 7 right.
Ozzz2002 proves that with great risk comes great reward as even though he took the spoon his bonus point total had him tied for the 4th most points of the week when all was said and done. Ozzz2002 did something never seen before as he scored 2 underdog bonus points in the same week for the USC upset over Oregon and the Arizona upset over instate rival Arizona State, and both games also got him solo picks points. Srini701 joined ozzz2002 with the bonus points for the Arizona win. Gillyharold pulled the trifecta as he got a solo and underdog point for the Baylor win over Oklahoma and he was the only tipper to get a perfect pick bonus point this week.
Penn State, Baylor, Arizona, USC and San Jose are upset winners this week and Miami (Fl) won the Pick'em game where both teams were considered underdogs.

Welcome to Rivalry Week, let’s get started with West Virginia going down 14-0 but getting the last laugh in the Backyard Brawl, which dates back to 1895, as they topped Pittsburgh 21-20. Dating back to 1900 the Apple Cup was won by Washington over Washington State 38-21. In a more recent tradition going back to 1996 LSU stayed perfect and defeated Arkansas 41-17 to earn the Golden Boot. In the Battle of the Palmetto State South Carolina came out on top 34-13 against Clemson again and won the Hardee’s Trophy in this game which dates back to 1896. In the Border War Missouri captured the Indian War Drum and Lamar Hunt Trophy in this Rivalry that goes all the way back to 1891 by topping Kansas 24-10. The Platypus Trophy is taken home by Oregon for their win over Oregon State in the Civil War 49-21, which has been played since 1891. Since 1893 the Clean Old-Fashioned Hate game was competed for by Georgia and Georgia Tech with the Bulldogs taking the Governor’s Cup by a score of 31-17. In the Iron Bowl Alabama took down Auburn 42-14 to win what is most likely the most famous rivalry of them all in College Football, which has been played since 1893 and the winner gets the James E. Foy V-ODK Sportsmanship Trophy. In their rivalry game for the Legends Trophy, played since 1988, Stanford beat Notre Dame 28-14. The inaugural Heroes Game Trophy Nebraska came out ahead of Iowa 20-7. The Sunshine Showdown was won by Florida State 21-7 over Florida , which was begun in 1897. Since 1897 The Game has been played and this time Michigan broke a 7 year drought by holding on against Ohio State for a 40-34 victory. In battles for Victory Bell’s UCLA lost the Crosstown Showdown, which has been played since 1929, in miserably fashion by being shut out by USC 50-0, and North Carolina topped Duke 37-21 in their series which has been played since 1948.
10 of us went 4 for 4 on Friday and if you picked the chalk for all 16 games, giving up on the perfect pick bonus point, then you chose well as all the favorites won for the first time in this competition. Your names will go in the record book, gtho4s for the second time, for 16/16 in this competition and you will have finished at least 1 point ahead of anyone who earned a perfect pick bonus point this week. As a group we had over 88% correct after the first 11 games, an over 85% accuracy rate after 14 games and we finished with a new group record of over 86% correct. The perfect trio this week who had the boldness give up the perfect pick bonus point and pick all favorites are dutchy50 , gtho4 and paper_aero , who share the HoF with a perfect 16/16. Ozzz2002 takes the spoon with 8 this week.
As a group we set a record with 11 tippers getting perfect pick bonus points, which don’t even include the HoF winners who were ineligible for the perfect pick bonus point due to not picking any underdogs and George95 who only picked one upset this week.
For the first time in this competition there were no upsets.

West Virginia came back on Thursday night to defeat South Florida 30-27 and give them a share of the Big East title for the year. On Friday night Oregon won the first ever Pac-12 Championship game over an outmatched UCLA team, especially on the offensive side of the ball, 49-31. Baylor finished a great season and Heisman hopeful Robert Griffin III had another showcase game as the Bears defeated Texas 48-24. TCU completed their undefeated season in the Mountain West by stomping UNLV 56-9 and keep hopes of a BCS game alive, while fellow more highly ranked fellow MWC team Boise State trounced New Mexico 45-0 to finish their first season in the more competitive conference. Cincinnati defeated Connecticut to also take a share of the Big East title this year, which will be determined by the top BCS ranked of 3 teams tied atop the Big East. BYU finished their first season as an independent with a 41-20 win over Hawaii. The SEC Championship game was not surprisingly won by LSU 42-10 over Georgia, which had turned a rough start into a 10 win season. The ACC Championship went to Clemson as they took down Virginia Tech for the 2nd time this year 38-10, the Tigers were the only team to beat the Hokies all season. Wisconsin got their revenge on Michigan State for a loss earlier this year, and one from last year which may have cost them a chance to play for the National Championship, as they won the first Big 10 Championship game with late heroics 42-39. In hopes of getting a chance over Alabama, who spent the weekend watching games from the couch, Oklahoma State dominated instate rival and national powerhouse Oklahoma 44-10, in hopes to move up to that #2 position in the BCS over the Crimson Tide.
The first 12 games were all won by the favorites, making it 28 wins in a row for favorites over the last 2 weeks, which was finally broken when Clemson defeated favorite Virginia Tech. HoFs went to BxBarracuda, dutchy50 and George95 for 15/16 and ozzz2002 took the spoon with 7 correct.
1 solo bonus point this week goes to BxBarracuda, for the pick of Clemson over Virginia Tech. Bx, gtho4, Howie72, illiniman14, N-Bomb and Sypher all received perfect pick bonus points. Dutchy50 and George95 didn't receive perfect pick bonus points for taking no underdogs, while Dizart, paper_aero and srini701 didn't get the bonus points for only picking one underdog.
Our first upset in 2 weeks goes to Clemson, who defeated Virginia Tech.
There are 2 rounds left in this competition and they will be comprised of 16 bowl games each, there are 3 bowl games which won't be on our schedule. The first set of games will run December 17th - December 30th and the second set of games will run December 31st - January 9th.

Temple got the ball rolling their Bowl season with a win over favored Wyoming 37-15. Ohio followed that up with their upset win over Utah State in a close one 24-23. TCU came back to finish their season with 10 wins by getting a 31-24 victory over Louisiana Tech. Kellen Moore got the 50th win of his career, which sets a new mark for college quarterbacks, with an easy win by his Boise State Bronco's over the Arizona State Sun Devils 56-24. Southern Miss followed up their Conference USA title with a win in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl over Nevada 24-17. North Carolina State continued with their upward trend, as they have back to back 9 win seasons and Bowl victories, a far cry from 5 years ago when they were 3-9 as they defeat Louisville 31-24. Toledo stops Air Force on a late 2 point conversion try to get a 42-41 win in the Military Bowl. Texas finishes on a positive note with a 21-10 win over California. Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III got the show stolen from him by the 200 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns of running back Terrance Ganaway and the two other Baylor running backs who were over 100 yards and had 2 touchdowns between them, in a game where total yard and total point records for any not overtime Bowl game were shattered as the Bears and the Washington Huskies combined for nearly 1400 yards with the Baylor winning 67-56. Notre Dame collapsed in the 2nd half and fell to Florida State 18-14. BYU finished with a 10 win season, in their first as an independent, with a come from behind 24-21 win over Tulsa. Oklahoma finished their season with 10 win also and a 31-14 win over Iowa in the Insight Bowl, but there had been much more expected of this team at the start of the season.
George95 missed the TCU and Boise State games but as luck would have it for him both those winning teams were lined up on what would be the away team side, giving him wins for those 2 games by default rules. There were 4 perfect pick bonus points led by rxbigdawg with a bonus point for 14 correct and gtho4, Howid72 and N-Bomb got theirs for 13 right. Paper_aero took the HoF with 15 right, but didn't get a bonus point due to picking only 1 underdog, while themonarch joined ozzz2002 with the spoon this week.
Temple and Ohio were upset winners in the first half of the Bowls.
With 1 week to go we will have a new champion in the 2nd year of this competition, title holder illiniman14 is not in the running this year. He and gtho4 had a heated 2 person battle for top spot last year, well clear of the rest of the pack. This year is different as gtho4 leads a group of 5 tippers each seperated from the person ahead of them by 1 point and 6th place is still in stiking distance of the podium 6 back of the leader.

A great season, with some great Bowl games to finish. The biggest surprise in a Bowl game for me being West Virginia's blowout of Clemson 70-33. Alabama won the National Championship. Sorry for the short write-up, but it has also been a long season.
Gillyharold and themonarch earned a solo bonus point each for the SMU win over Pittsburgh. N-Bomb took the HoF with 12 this week and Dizart and gillyharold shared the spoon.
Utah, Cincinnati, Michigan State, West Virginia, SMU and Alabama were all upset winners.
Congrats to gtho4 who is the champion of this year's competition. N-Bomb came from behind during the Bowl season and tied dutchy50 for 2nd place. Once again I forgot tie breakers, so they will both finish with silver.
Thank you to all the tippers and see you for next years competition.

Once again I forgot tie breakers, so they will both finish with silver. They both also finished 3-0 in HoF-WS differential, so they'd be split second regardless. Well done to the two of them and gtho4 at the top.

Tie breakers are only used for short tournaments. For season long tipping comps we have the countback procedure. >> posted by BxBarracuda >> Once again I forgot tie breakers, so they will both finish with silver.
They both also finished 3-0 in HoF-WS differential, so they'd be split second regardless. Not quite. The countback for season long tipping comps falls back on bonus pts if there's another dead-heat on HoF vs. WS differential (that's why we track bonus pts each week). It's only a tie if there's another dead-heat with bonus pts. Thank you BxB, and congrats to the three medallists!

I almost made the podium! Hopefully next year, I can go one better. Congrats to the lads up the top, and also to the Barracuda for his great work.
