Hahaha, you two crack me up .. I don't care about the points...
btw, proper nouns have been used before ex. xerox; isn't that a brand name?? Maybe that will give Sypher something else to think about.LOL hehehehe

Sypher, are you going to allow proper nouns and brand names??

With respect to the database, do the starting words for each game (like "trip" in this game) count as already having been used?

To answer Cellardoor first....The starting words do count as beng used...sorry It affects everyone !!

As to brand names...hard call...like you said Xerox is actually in the dictionary. As for Rolex....it is in the OED as a brand of watch..which is what we all know....So I suppose if the brand name is worldwide known, then I suppose it is ok.

On the subject of past weeks, I wouldn't know how to create a database if my life depended on it, but I'll take my chances - I've been just scanning the past entries quickly and taking my chances. But if you do just write them once, your upkeep is minimal.
On the dictionary business, we don't all have access it's true, but I think verifiability has to fall on Sypher's shoulders.
On proper words, what the heck, short of opening it up to women's first names, which could leave us in a world of hurt. (But come to think of it, I won that game in Snake so...
I am reviewing the situation....)

Glad to see my suggestion of onelook.com is being used as the final word verification site...makes me feel almost normal again!

I would like to formally challenge BagLady's entry of 'TICKY'....

I find no reference to ticky as a word... only as part of a hyphenated word.

Val, your challange is a good one and you will receive the 10 points for the challange.

Sorry BL, but as she said, your entry of "TICKY" is not a word on it's own, therefore invalid.

Sorry dumpling, your entry of "YACKS" is plural and therefore invalid.

Sorry SB...but i am using the verb Yack.......as opposed to a noun...as in the sentence "the old woman yacks to the other old woman over the fence" I think that makes it not a plural.ie:

I yack
She Yacks
They Yack

Sorry, Sage, but they're right. We did go through this before, and I can't even think of a noun "YACKS" - the animal doesn't have a "C" - not everything ending in "S" is plural.

It seems that Cellardoor left a difficult word to follow. I made an entry and all who follow me may post anytime today to makeup their entry for today.

I would have done this in my time slot, but was in too much pain to sit at the computer any longer. I have kidney stones and this morning and the only way I could get rid of it was to take pain pills and lay down till I had to leave for work. Sorry to you all for lettling you down.

Sage, no apology required at all. I am so sorry you are having problems. Been there, done that and know how miserable it is.
I was having a tremendously difficult time finding a word to follow CD, but I also wasn't sure whether I should jump in there, never having been the one to add a letter. It's not like I was going to win this week anyway, but I got tied up in meetings and never got a chance to get back after it!!
Love to you, Sage, and take care of yourself. We'll be here when you get better.
