Nothing has been posted yet for the NBA season as the two sides cannot come to an agreement. If there is no agreement by Monday, the first two weeks of the regular season will be cancelled.

Apologies to the tippers, but until an agreement is reached, there will be no sign-up sheet for NBA.

Update: the first two weeks have been cancelled, and it's trending that more may happen. There may not be an NBA comp for the 2011-12 season.

Please try your hand at some of the other comps that we have if you are a newbie to the tipping. We'll take anyone in (about*) any comp.

*Disclaimer: the FT-PL is an exception to this rule as it is very rigid and painstaking for the comp organizer to get fixtures put together. That sole comp has a system to allow new tippers, but only after previous ones have had their fair share. See the current FT-PL comp for rules regarding that matter.

Update: more games may be cancelled later today. We will monitor the situation and hope for the best, but, again, it is looking like the season will be lost. A final decision will be made at the beginning of November regarding a tipping comp for the NBA season for us.

Update: more games cancelled today. I will continue to assess the situation and see what transpires, but with no progress yet, it's looking more likely there will not be an NBA comp for 2011-12.

Update: The NBA has put an offer on the table that the players have until Wednesday to ratify. If they don't, it will most likely doom the entire season.

Update: The NBA has put an offer on the table and the players will meet either Monday or Tuesday on whether to take it further to the entire players' union. If they say yes, a 72 game season will be played and we will have a comp. If the proposal is rejected, the NBA 2011-2012 FT tipping comp will be lost as there will not be enough rounds to compare to other years. At this point, according to the NBA website, games through December 15 have been cancelled, which is seven rounds of games, dropping us to 18. This weekend would have been "Week 3." I would have been willing to go 20 rounds and still call it comparable, albeit slightly shortened.

The NBA has announced that they are done negotiating. Their next proposal will be what it was back in June, that the players already rejected (47% of BRI to the players and a hard cap).

It's come down to this approval/rejection to save both the NBA season and our comp.

Next (and possibly final) update will be on Wednesday next week.

With the players' rejection of the latest proposal, thus ends the chance of a 2011-12 NBA tipping comp.

Please try your hand at any of our other comps. The FT-PL is a separate type of comp and only a limited number of participants can play that one.

I am sure that there was plenty of money to go round, for BOTH sides. Sounds like two kids fighting over a toy, and they should be treated accordingly.

Yes, $2B per side is a lot. I'd like to have 0.1% of it! Looks like neither side wants any.

The season may not be quite as dead as originally thought.
