I am, or was, a executive director of a mining museum. Unfortunately, when the economy gets back, museums and libraries seem to be the easiest to cut back on. I was laid off and am still searching to find another job. So, that is why I have been playing Funtrivia extensively lately! As a hobby for the last thirty years, I have been writing books on Nevada ghost towns and mining camps. Sell a lot of books but authors don't make much money off of their books. Maybe I should write one about brothels! :-)

The original post here does reek of cynicism, I must say, aaronjunior. You seem to be implying that it's not possible for someone who works to log on at different times of the day and amass all the points that they do; in fact, your last part about insinuating that some people have more than one person playing on their account is very extreme! That would be cheating, and it doesn't happen here often. As you've read in this post, many players do log on during work, and indeed some do not work at all, and you seem not to have given thought to the idea that perhaps players prefer to play in the evenings or even during the night before resorting to the idea that more than one person plays on each account! As you've said you log on at different times of the day and night sometimes, is it really difficult to imagine that others do the same?

Excellent post Alexx, and was feeling the same about the insinuations there.
However, I must say it was interesting to read the rest of the topic, to find out what we all do apart from our funtriviarizing.

I work in the retail sector, specialising in the Home Entertainment market. Since doing this I've found I have a lot less time to play quizzes on here. My previous job, running an online production department in a design and marketing company, meant I could occasionally play during my working day. It was also in an office far closer to home and I didn't have so many children so I had more spare time.

Interesting topic! I'm a freelance writer and work from home, so I can log in most anytime. However, I don't score many points each day... frown

Oh, I agree. Those were my initial thoughts but I posted first about what I do because that's really more interesting than someone yet again implying that cheating goes on! smile

Well one might wish to return the question to Aaron.

I'm a teacher, translator and tutor. Not working one hundred percent of the time but trying to get back to full employment. In the past, I've been employed and in situations where I was waiting for a new position in the company yet had to show up, so I was able to work as an editor from there.

I find that ages, and professions tend to make little difference to me in terms of the Funtrivia family.

I'm a retired Postal Worker. I worked the overnight shift for 26 years and have had a very hard time adjusting to sleeping at night.

Therefore, I might be seen on FT anytime of the day or night. I get to know a lot of people from different time zones.

I don't think my scores would put a scare into anyone.

I'm a manager of community services with a local government. I play before I go to work and when I get home, but like postal, I spent much of my previous career working night duty in a small country hospital, and now have difficulty sleeping, so my computer is often used at 2 am !

I teach in a primary school, usually Year 1 children aged 5-6, which I think is still classed as Kindergarden in the USA. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with 30 small children will know that any attempt to access FT during working hours is impossible. And when they're not there you will usually find me having a lie-down in a darkened room with a cold compress on my head and an aspirin.

I organize congresses and conventions so I spend many idle hours at airports, which is mainly the time I log onto FT, and now that many airlines have internet access on board I also get to play while we are in the air, I call it an added bonus!

I was a repairer of domestic electronics equipment until 1995. Televisions - video recorders - hi-fi units - radios and just about anything that had electronics or delicate mechanisms inside (particularly video recorders) Finished doing that in 1995 having done it for 33 years. A job I liked not only because of enjoying a good mend but also because it got me out and about. Going round people's homes and chatting about almost any subject was a big part of the attraction for me.

Then my wife and better half became immobile due to a road accident so, after a while, I stopped mending to become her carer. I still do this. Not a job one can retire from.

I don't do quizzes. Just not my thing. I found this forum by looking at forums, rather than wanting to do quizzes. No points for me then. smile

We live on a remote sheep station. The main job is putting my son through his schooling. No school for miles (and miles) so it gets sent out to him and I have to deliver it. There's always lots of other station jobs to do though!

I don't do the quizzes either, Tellies smile Used to but can't remember the last time I played one!

I am currently working for a local owned auto shop; I do the data entry, putting parts online for them to sell.

He sells worldwide, too, with the help of his website and eBay. We seem to sell a lot to Norway.

It's my first job, too. smile

I was a political speechwriter, then I did some writing for television. I am still working on a few projects, but I spend most of my time chasing after my two year old son. And, I have to say it is the hardest "job" I haver ever had, lol!

Wow, out of the mouths of babes.

I am currently unemployed. Former Marine. I managed an Italian restaurant and was a corporate trainer for many years.

I am enthralled with the resulting responses to an indelicate post.

I am a retired educator. I used to teach programming, database design and systems design. Now I do volunteer work for the Guardian ad Litem program. I also quilt and machine embroidery. My husband and I love to travel. Sometimes I have lots of time for FT, and sometimes I don't have much time at all!

I'm a banker. I access FT while doing a market update in the morning before leaving for work and then again when I return in the evening. I rarely access FT at work through my phone and when I do, it's just to visit the chatboards or my team message board. My FT playing tends to vary based on quarter and year ends. smile I used to play a lot more when I was a student till a couple of years ago.
