Dorothy Goodbody's Wholesome (Stout)

British

Just for your information - Wye Valley Brewery

quote:
A smooth and satisfying stout without a bitter edge to its roast flavours. "Roast grain is the dominant feature of this near black stout. It fills the leathery aroma, and, with bitterness, pushes sweeter malt to the background in the mouth

Since no challenges were accepted yesterday, several entries were slightly wrong. First of all, Wooldog....my ol' china....your entry didn't start with the correct letter PLUS....the name of the beer is slightly wrong...it should be 'Shepherd Neame 1698 "300 Years" Celebration Ale , but since you are sooooo new and the beer is already getting to me.....I'm gonna give you half points instead of ZERO....That means you get 12 points !!

The other entry that is slightly wrong is Bridelady. The official name of the beer (this is looking at several websites as well as the brewery's website) is 'MacAndrew's Scotch'....There is no "Man's Best Friend" in the official name. So no points will be given unless you can prove otherwise by several sites (New rule coming into effect)

Scores after Day 1....

Somali..........38 (Hmmmmmm....sweet smell of success..or is that beer ?)
Sypher..........27 (Typical...being drunk under the table by all of these women)
Pling...........22 (One can get used to being this high up)
Zozo............21 (Savour it while it lasts....Muhahahaha)
Fortunata.......19 (Out of the way....coming thru...need to get to the bar)
Anniedt.........18 (The view is good from down here...NOT!!)
Bridelady.......16 (I'll be back !!)
Wooldog.........12 (Oops...slipped up on the way....better get the next round in...)

Day two has come and gone and a few players just couldn't handle the pace and have dropped out....no mention of any names....[coughs loudly] "WoolDog".

Anyway....Bridelady's Monday entry is still being contested for the extra points and has not been judged yet. So watch out Somali.....Bridelady could be the hidden leader.

Score so far...

Somali............64 (Can I last another round...hic ?)
Bridelady.........59 (Your round is nearly over...make way !!)
Pling.............58 (At least I am still with the leaders)
Sypher............49 (Oh look...2nd division drinkers)
Zozo..............47 (Nice easy pace....still not paralytic)
Anniedt...........36 (Excuse me....but can I have my keys back ?)
Fortunata.........35 (I'm with her.....or am I with myself...Too much booze !!)
Wooldog.............12 (Propping up the bar and no legs to stand on....Lightweight)
Mamaja..............12 (At least my excuse is I turned up late....next round on me !!)

I'm not playing to win now, just playing to amuse. I reckon Somali really needs some of this to get her under the table but I suspect even under there she will still be able to hold her hand up for another pint. (Myself - I hate beer)
