I visited Bristol museum for the first time in many years recently & took a few photos of the exhibits. It's difficult to get a decent photo through the glass and with flash photography prohibited but here's a hare. (Sorry it's not a rabbit, Flopsy. )

Tizabelle and Flopsy, I don't know what he was throwing but there were dozens of them. I didn't even know he was ploughing, but I looked out the kitchen window and there was this massive flock of seagulls, then the plough appeared, so I grabbed the camera. I've got another one I'll put on tomorrow of them settled in the field and there is just this great mass of them. I don't know how they know when ploughing is happening, they seem to just appear out of nowhere. Given we are 11/12 miles from the coast they must send spies out or something.

I went to Durrell the other day and as it was a bit chilly lots of the animals were inside and I was amused to see the meercats under lamps keeping warm.

"Pretty maids all in a row", or Strelitzias to be exact. Since the resumption of normal rainfall, the plant has grown so huge as to exclude daylight from some of my windows.
They have an appointment this weekend with a gentleman and a chainsaw.

War Memorial for members of the congregation of St Aidans Church Willington Quay, moved to Holy Cross Cemetery when the church was demolished
My wife's great uncle is one of those listed on the memorial he had lied about his age when he enlisted was a driver in the Royal Field Artillary and died of wounds in a field hospital 29 August 1918. It was searching for information about him which started my interest in family history

London is an absolute goldmine of old road signs, mainly due to the sheer numbers making removal a task beyond the priority of councils who actually need to be providing services and not following government regulations of style. I don't even remember these white arrows but were the previous version of the current black and white chevrons around roundabouts. I have seen them in a film still on the road to the Dover car ferry and another in the City of London but nowhere else, are they familiar to anyone else?

Not a very usual sight, bulls on the beach, but they seemed to enjoy their day out on the seaside as much as we did. Although evereybody kept their distance, as those horns where a bit intimidating. There is the Dońa Ana natural reserve that borders onto the beach, so they must have come from there.
