I have a team member attempting to write her first quiz. She is apparently having difficulty with it, as it has been sent back several times for corrections. On the last return she received a note stating, ‘…your quiz writing privileges will be suspended for wasting editor's time.’

I believe there was no malicious attempt to waste the editor’s time. She is an excited new quiz writer needing some extra guidance. She’d like to scrap her current quiz and start anew, as she has several other ideas for quizzes she’d like to pursue. However, with her suspension she cannot delete her offline quiz and start with a clean slate.

As I’ve only been able to find a suspension referenced to plagiaristic activities, does anyone know how long a suspension lasts or if there is an appeal process to lift the suspension?

Please tell your team member to contact the editor she was working with via direct note. There is no need to go over this in a public forum.

Is the suspension a specific length of time or is it left up to the editor?

It depends on the issues. Most frequently, authors are suspended for three months but some have been permanently banned in the past. Without knowing the author in question I couldn't tell more, but it varies; we take everyone on a case-by-case basis.

Please have the member take this up with the editor, as per the post by guitargoddess.
btw the member can still edit the quiz; his or her quiz writing privileges have *not* been suspended.
