I think we should remember that we´ve got people from all over the world here and from various different backgrounds. Meaning that what may be considered weird by one person may be perfectly acceptable to the next. Names in themselves are a slippery subject, what with various spellings, ethnic backgrounds and all.
This week´s topic was vague to begin with. To help sort out the grey areas, I asked a few questions at the beginning of the week...of which only one was answered. Alexandria Good Time as Sypher´s first entry was the example I was following. Obviously, it led me to believe the song did NOT have to be about a particular girl. As far as I´m concerned, Alexandria is a city in Egypt. The correct form of the name, if you want to get choosy, is Alexandra (no i).
That´s not to say it doesn´t exist as a girl´s name, it´s just a little obscure.
Which brings me right back to my initial point! LOL
I think Somali´s idea is good, to be able to confirm the name with sites. If I find Darling listed in three of them, however, I want my points back!
BTW, anyone ever heard the name Guiomar for a girl before???
In my own defense, I forgot to add that I still haven´t gotten the italics in bold down yet (as you can see by my first entry)...so if it´s ok, I´ll just use the italics (no bold) in my entries.
