It makes a difference if the entry begins with the equivalent of these in other languages, since 1)it goes first and 2)the word probably starts with a different letter (other than "T" or "D"). Like "Calle" for example. In this case, it doesn´t need to go in parentheses and the starting letter has to follow the previous entry.

The majority of Spanish entries start with 'calle'. If we only use Sypher's rule for the English word for road and street we aren't going to be able to use these. I am going to use German entries (if I get the right letter, German ones starts with lots of different letters) for most of the week from now on so, sorry, Bridelady unless this ruling changes to cover other languages, you better start looking for entries starting with E (as nearly all of the German entries end with 'strasse') and if they don't end in E they end in F(all the stations) or in Z.

The ONLY squares on a Monopoly Board that isn't allow is 'Go To Jail', 'Free Parking', Utilities Propertys (Electric/Water Works) and Super Tax/Income Tax.

Only Cities/Towns are allowed...NO NOVELTY BOARDS like Nascar, Coca Cola, Star Wars etc etc

One question: Some property names appear on more than one edition of Monopoly. Can I safely assume that once a name has been used it can't be repeated by someone citing a different edition of the game?

An entry can be repeated if the property appears on a DIFFERENT CITY/TOWN.

An entry cannot be repeated if it just appears on a newer version or different edition of the same city/town.

From what I can work out, Eilat is not the name of one of the properties but a city from which 2 or 3 street names have been used as properties on the board.

Bridelady I have PMed you back regarding your entry but just in case you don't receive it....Somali is correct in challenging you as you have named more or less the group name for a number of properties and not individuals.

Eilat is a group of 2 or 3 properties on the board and they have their own name. It is their own name that counts.

Onto Mamaja....I will PM you all the properties for the Boston City Monopoly. If I posted it, then all entries for Boston would no longer count.

Tried logging on around 7.25 this morning, but as soon as I got connected the line tripped out. Then at 7.35 the power went off completely. Once the storm moved away and the power came back on, then I was back in business. I knew there was a long gap between my time slot and zozo's, so didn't think it should cause any problems.

PS. I'm sure you would have been delighted if I couldn't play today, huh??

The "T" is on the 1994 Boston Edition.

It's Boston's subway. The site claims it's "America's oldest and still one of the best"! If we're going to dispute anything it would have to be that statement! lol
