I'm not sure myself, but this might fit better in a different forum. Maybe an admin/mod can move it to a more proper place.

I've watched a lot of movies...but I think I watched this one within the past few years. I'm not sure what genre it is though.

I'm pretty sure that that's Alec Guinness ('pretty sure', as opposed to being 'absolutely certain', being the operative phrase there). But I couldn't say which film ...

That's a good guess. I'll try to confirm.

I did some research and I don't think it's Alec. Any other ideas?

yeah well, maybe it would fit in "Why is the sky blue" but "Movies and TV" does seem pretty apt for a question about a movie.

I think the original question was posted in the Lounge which was why Dave made the comment. I think admin moved it pretty quickly to Movies and TV.

Guilty! I moved it in a rush to get to work and forgot to inform anyone. Really sorry Jill!

I may be as guilty for saying something about moving it though!

I thought at first of Woody Allen, I don't know why, except for the glasses. Mr. Allen has a more triangular face, I think.

Not very much help.

Looking at the clothing (the tie really), my guess is this movie was made in the 1950's or is set during that time.

I agree that it is not much to go on. But I am not sure if the image feels familiar at this point because it is or because I have kept looking at it. Judgement at Nuremburg? It struck me at first either a courtroom or before a political assembly. Then, of course, an educator. Around and around it goes.

Maybe it's from a TV show. Twilight zone? I dunno.

I'm thinking it might be Scott Glen, possibly in "Absolute Power" - just possibly!

Following up with the answer to this image question for those interested. The man in question ended up being Manny Fried. The photo was taken during the House Un-American Activities Committee Senate hearings in the 50's. He died during 2011.

So, in other words, even though Manny Fried may have been an actor, the photo in question was NOT from a movie? He was a local Buffalo, NY stage play actor? Might as well put up a photo of my mother from her HS Senior Play and ask from what movie that was in as well.

And to top it off, why even say that the photo was bugging you like you had seen it before (see original post)? Why not just come right out and and say it was for an obscure trivia game you were playing.

Quite right ClaraSue. There are far too many instances of people posing questions they have found in quizzes not ours. People here take the trouble to try and answer them . The original poster disappears without even a thankyou. Thank goodness most of our members have basic manners.
