I was going to suggest that next year's tiebreaker be how many rackets will he destroy. That's provided he's allowed back in Melbourne.

- The first of this year's grand slam events is now over. Victoria Azarenka beats Maria Sharapova in straight sets, quite convincingly actually, to claim the women's title.
- We had thirteen people tip. An all-time high for any Australian Open tournament! On the women's side, this was only topped by Wimbledon in 2005 where we had 14.
- Congratulations to illiniman4, who wins the 2012 Women's Australian Open tipping competition!
- He won with 64 out of a possible 152 points (42.1%) and with eleven correct tips!
- Second place goes to paper_aero, twelve points in arrears.
- The tiebreaker was used for the final podium spot, Sypher edging out George95 by three sets.
- Last year's winner of this event, Howie72, wound up at the bottom with five picks for only 18 points. Even BxBarracuda's two picks garnered him 25 points to beat that!
- Two results went untipped. Unseeded Sara Errani and Ekaterina Makarova got to the quarterfinals unpicked. Also, Maria Sharapova's success all the way to the finals was picked by only one tipper, ozzz2002.
- Thanks for tipping. See you all at the French Open!

- The first of this year's grand slam events is now over. #1 seed Novak Djokovic beat #2 seed Rafael Nadal in a thrilling match. It was also the first time since 2005 that all four top seeds made the semifinals, and only the third time in Australian Open history.
- It was an epic match, watch the highlight reel if you don't believe me.
- We had thirteen people tip. An all-time high for any Australian Open tournament which matched the women's side of the competition.
- Congratulations to paper_aero, who wins the 2012 Men's Australian Open tipping competition!
- He won with 68 out of only 98 possible points (69.4%) and with thirteen correct tips! This was a very low-scoring tournament.
- Second place goes to N-Bomb who was only three points behind.
- Unlucky George95 lost the podium on a tiebreaker. AGAIN. The bronze medal goes to srini70 by 6 sets.
- At the bottom we have newcomer wwe84. A valiant effort in a tough competition.
- No results went untipped. Even 24th seed Kei Nishikori was tipped by two of us, ozzz2002 and BxBarracuda.
- Thanks for tipping. See you all at the French Open!

- Also, Maria Sharapova's success all the way to the finals was picked by only one tipper, gtho4.
Shouldn't that be ozzz2002?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at the ladies results, if someone picked Makarova and Errani to make the semis, and nothing else, would they have won the comp?

Awwww....losing out on 2 tiebreaks in one tournament! George, you have a right to feel let down! Sorry I was one of the 2 "culprits" Well done to paper_aero and all other podium finishers....and to Ozz and Bx for picking Kei Nishikori! Thanks LDV for all the number crunching despite your hectic schedules

Correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at the ladies results, if someone picked Makarova and Errani to make the semis, and nothing else, would they have won the comp? Yes, as they would have had 68 points, and they could have them lose in the quarters to still pull that off.
