Just an Update....Work server's are still down, looks like I'm gonna have to post when I finally get home tonight...Sorry

BTW...Zozo...I would have posted but since I have no search engines to look up anything....(this is via Bloomberg and you can only go to sites they have preset)....I will have to post something when I'm at home.

As I'm sure Sypher has realised, the website he, me and several others are using was down this morning. By the time he posted that he wasn't posting (if you get my drift), I had neither the time nor the inclination to go looking for other sites to use. I can either post now (there's a long gap before the next player), or I can be given the default score for the day, or I can be expelled/deleted/shot. Any preferences anyone?

Sorry, I should have said something earlier.

I don´t think I should be getting points for not having played at all. I mean, really, if I missed one or two days then fine...but not an entire week in a row! LOL

Please remove me from the list until this topic is over, I won´t be playing. Thank you.

Well, as no-one has yet said I shouldn't post, I will go and do so now. Then I'm out of here again!

I wonder why we have rules about time slots if we do not have to follow them. Yes, the website was down and I had to go looking elsewhere because I thought the rules stated we had to post in our time slot and not after. I have gone without points in previuos games because I couldn't post on time.

Sypher you were already on the board when I finally posted. I held of posting to the very last minute because of that.

I think it is wrong that I score poorly beciase I played the game honestly (keeping to my timeslot)even though the website was down. I had to use another website and as a result could only get a low scoring entry.

I therefore am challenging both Sypher and Somali for breaking the rule about posting times.

If the website was down, I really didn't know. I was using the link to Funtrivia found via Bloomberg as the servers for the internet at work were down. I posted that within my time-slot and I waited as long as I did because I wanted to find an entry.

In the past, many members have not been able to post at their time and have either requested to post later or even earlier.

Now, I hear you say, but I was on the boards, so if I could access the internet, while not post an entry. Well, the answer to that one is easy....I don't know any opera singers off the top of my head and I couldn't go searching as Bloomberg doesn't supply any 'Search Engines'.

If this is not a good enough reason...say so, but it's the truth, I only managed to search once I got home.

Should you not have not posted at all and just accepted the default score? (I think the default score should be equal to the lowest score not the average). It is unfair that I played legally and as a result I had to post a low score because the website was down and yet other people will score higher when they technically posted illegally. That's just not cricket, is it?

Zozo...you are 100% correct, that it is not cricket but over time there have been many a problem for various players who have had to post at different times to their time-slot. No.1 rule for posting at a different time is to let everyone know. This is just what I did.

Hi zozo. I quite agree - which is why I said I'd accept being given a default score or expelled and given zero. Sypher posted he would be back soon so I waited for about 20 minutes, but then I had to go into Aberdeen so I just gave up.

There will be NO Expelling !! No Zeroing of points and as far as Default is concerned, after the first week I reset the default to be 2 points lower than the lowest score of the week. On a day to day basis, it will be the lowest score minus one and not the average.

Advance warning for tomorrow - I may have to post later in the day tomorrow (say after Mamaja) because I will be leaving early in the morning to drive to Inverness. My beautiful Golden Retriever, Kirsty, had to be put to sleep recently because of cancer, and tomorrow I am going to collect a chocolate Labrador puppy to help fill the gap that has been left in my life. So things will be even more chaotic than usual here with a puppy into everything, but it will be lovely to have a dog around again.

I agree, Sypher. It's 9:52 a.m. here in the States and 3:00 a.m. at FT...............weird or what?

Hmmmm....testing again. It's 4:16 EST.....what time is it at FT?

Well, it's back to 'almost' normal, give or take 6 or 7 minutes...still doesn't take into effect Daylight Savings Time, though.
