Hi!
I am thinking about starting a game of To Tell The Truth, here at Funtrivia, and I'm wondering if there will be some volunteers to play. All it entails is that people log on to Funtrivia as it will be played right here in the forums! Agreed? If you wish to play just speak up now or forever lose your peace (is that how it goes?). All I need is three people to start it off. The "Celebrity panel" will be basically made up of the entire "cast" of Funtrivia!

Here are the rules:

1) There will be three volunteers. Two will be imposters, pretending to be the third party. Only the third party MUST tell the truth. The other two are allowed to lie.

2) It is the job of everyone here to guess who the truth teller is! It will be a lot funner if someone well known is the "true person." For example a moderator.

Example:

Contestant #1: My name is Cranium_kid and I play on Funtrivia!
Contestant #2: My name is Cranium_kid and I play on Funtrivia!
Contestant #3: My name is Cranium_kid and I play on Funtrivia!

Only one of these three players is the real Cranium_kid and has sworn to tell the truth!

Then, the rest of Funtrivia will ask these three contestants questions to "trick" the real player to reveal themselves! Possible questions:
#1: Are you a male or female?
#2: Where do you live at (the real Cranium_ kid has specifically stated on the bottom of every message where he lives)
#3: What is your signature say?

The questioning will continue for about 3 days, in which time, anybody may start voting on who the "real one" is. Let's see how well you know each other!

I saw the show after reading your post. I came back and it actually makes sense now!

This sounds like a fun thing to try... except I'm not sure how it would work on here. It might be a little easier for the impersonators when they can check through the forums for information before responding. In the live version they don't have the luxury of time

Hi!
I'm glad you got to see the show as I know how confusing my definition was. I have a way of actually playing it. And yes I will allow the impersonators to have some preparation time. This is how I'm doing the game:

I have created 3 more accounts under the screenames Contestant_1, Contestant_2, and Contestant_3. I will give the three (3) contestants the passwords to these accounts, and they will be answering the question under these screenames. I will be contacting the three contestants via e-mail or by way of the messaging system that Funtrivia has set up. Whichever way is more convenient to the player. Would you like to be the first player? If we can find 2 more imposters, they can all pretend to be you, LadyCaitriona? Ok? Get back to me asap!

I don't think anyone can appropriately impersonate LadyC

I'd be interested in playing either as real person, imposter or panelist. e-mail me at crtmommy@home.com.

#1: What is your name? My name is malizma and I'm a redhead!

#2: What is your name? My name is malizma and I have a turquoise computer!

#3: What is your name? My name is malizma and I have an art studio in my house!

Only one of these people is the real malizma and has sworn to tell the truth!

Listen to me as I read the sworn testimony of the real, malizma!

Affidavit:

I, malizma, have hobbies that include painting, reading and going to marching band contests. My favorite foods include sushi, pasta of any kind including raw elbow macaroni, and extra crunch peanut butter. I sing show tunes in the shower and crow just about anything in the car. My house is decorated in bright colors including a turqoise computer, art studio. Currently, I am in the process of buying three goldfish whom have been named (not by me) Andrew, Lloyd and Webber. I am of Russian, Irish, and German blood and am a fiery red head to go with it.

Signed:
malizma

Let's begin the questioning!

I guess I'll start the questioning, despite the fact that I know who it is. Ok, here are a few questions for all three of you:

What sort of computer is your turquoise computer?
What brand of extra crunch peanut butter do you enjoy?
Who named your goldfish, if it wasn't you?
Do you have long or short hair?

How many questions do we get per round?
Do we ask the questions of all 3, or just one of the contestants?
Can any of us pose a question at any time?

Hi!
You may ask as many questions, you like, there is no limit and you may keep asking. You may ask for all three or jst target your questions to a certain contestant, just specify to whom you are referring the questions to. And yes you may pose questions whenever you wish, that all?

Since one of your hobbies is reading, what is your favorite book?

I don't want to say anything that would give me away, either but I could say that my favorite book is by Roger
Rosenblatt. Helpful?

One last question. This is a tricky one but I have a reason for asking it.
What is MY favorite book?

Hi!
Justawful, who do you think it is? And no money will be awarded, and even if it were the money will be split between the challengers, isn't that right? And just curious, what is your reason for asking?

OK CK. I'm going out on a limb here. I asked the previous question because it could not be looked up on here. I have never let it be known what my favorite book is, but I did tell the real Malizma what it was in a PM long ago. Sneaky huh? lol. Unfortunately all 3 Malizmas have given the wrong answer.
I will wager a guess that the real Malizma is contestant #2.
Her answer to her favorite book question was evasive enough while not being falsified. Contestant #3 I believe gave the wrong answer, while contestant #1 knew the right answer but offered it in hopes of luring me into making the wrong choice. Pretty good detective work right? Or not! Lol.
Will the real Malizma please stand up.
