The last thread was so wonderful I am amazed at the talent. So keep showing your great projects here. By the way what about some photos from the men? I know we must have some crafty guys around here! Here goes then Gallery 4!

Since there is a nice new empty thread I guess that I ought to start it off with a picture. I was rummaging in one of my big boxes last night looking for something, I didn't find what I wanted but did find sixteen Christmas cards which I had made in 2010 then lost! Fortunately the inserts don't have the year on them so I can use them all this year instead. Here is one of them, the image is part of a paper serviette/napkin, it is stuck onto parchment, then that is stuck to the card blank.

Gotta love a littel red-breasted robin, eh? Here's a shaker card I made following a live online crop tonight: And a second one from the same tutorial can be seen here

That is brilliant, and thank you for the idea. it is Hermione's second birthday in February and a shaker card will be ideal for her.
For those of you who do not know what it is, a shaker card has a raised tramsparent bit and in the sealed 'pocket' you put things like beads or glitter or similar so that when you shake it it makes a noise.

Thanks Sue!
Great idea for Hermione's birthday! I plan on using my one and two others similar for my three nieces' forthcoming birthdays (ages 3, 4 and 7). They should get a bit of fun out of playing with it.

And a tasty little card which I put together before going to work this morning: My son did ask me what on earth I was doing making a racket with the sewing machine at 7am for, but hey, all in a good cause *ahem*

Here's a page I finished off this morning, based on a sketch I found here: The pictures are of the prototype of a branch of the 'Heron Tree', a gigantic structure under construction in the old docklands of Nantes, with a collection of plants in self-watering suspended gardens, a fantastic project to renovate the island of Nantes. You can also visit the other machines based on Jules Verne's drawings. Wikipedia article here. I already made a layout of the gigantic elephant here ( Beauty is not a matter of size), last October.

Maynooth is away overseas for a month on business, and coolcat90 is also away overseas, so I invited my friend to stay for the past weekend and we made cards and scrapbooked from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. Made a glorious mess of the dining room but it didn't matter as it was just us two. I rather liked the way these two cards turned out.

Very nice Carole. Messy crafting is fun, just as well that I live alone, it has taken over the bottom of my house.

Yes, when I go to stay , she has to clear me a space. But it keeps the old dear off the streets.

Thank you for your kind comments about the cards. Yes, it was a fun weekend. I decided to take a leaf out of Sue's book and experiment with photos. I often take photos of flowers when I am travelling so I had some reprints made and used them as the basis for some cards. Here is one photo making two very different cards. I took this photo at The Olga's (near Ayer's Rock). I had them printed at two different places as an experiment - so I know now which photo development service I'll be using in future!

Love the cards Carole. I print all my own stuff, I use compatible inks so it isn't expensive.

Good idea Jane! I've kept all Sue's cards too and shown them to some of my card-making friends. So, Sue, if your ears are burning...it's all the compliments you are getting Down Under. This flower is called "Pink Maiden" and I photographed it in the jungle in Borneo. Again you can see the distinct difference in the quality between the two places where I had them printed.
