Pole sitter Mark Martin gave up the lead to Tony Stewart during the first lap as he fell to the middle of the pack, not pushing the envelope yet. Lap 15, or 312, has the first caution of the day as Clint Bowyer has a tire go flat on him, 10 drivers chose not to make pit stops on this caution. The other driver from the first row, who started second, Kasey Kahne has some issues in lap 28 as he loses control and hits the wall good, no need for caution, but a lot of work needed on Kahnes car including suspension work. Just a few laps later Clint Bowyer has the same tire get cut down on him again, he only glances the wall, but something is rubbing the tire down fast. Lap 60 has a caution for debris, which will help the drivers who stayed out on lap 15. In lap 112 Casey Mears spins out on his own, hitting the wall bad, taking heavy damage to the car. Soon after A.J. Almendingers gets loose causing Paul Menard to hit the back or him and Jamie McMurray to hit the back of Menard. Jimmie Johnson has some extra pit time during this caution. This quick caution caused a few cars to stay out, and they ended up making green flag stops, so there were two different fuel strategies going on now. Jamie McMurray had smoke coming out of his exhaust on lap 213, meaning engine issues. Lap 228 has a debris caution. Lap 247 has David Reutimann with engine trouble as he goes smoking into the pits, but not before bringing out the caution. Tony Stewarts turned off his car but it wouldn't refire, so he had to be pushed to pit road. Marcos Ambrose is next to have engine trouble on lap 293 and he had been running in 3rd place. Heading into the last few laps, Denny Hamlin was trying to hold off Kevin Harvick, and Harvick ended up running out of fuel but held on for second place. Carl Edwards also ran out of fuel on the last couple of laps.
BxBarracuda has all three of his drivers in the top 5 and takes this week’s HoF with a 117. Howie scored 41 more points than last week, but was unable to avoid his second spoon in a row.
Gtho4 and Howie held their positions, while everyone else moved up or down slightly.
Gtho4 held onto first place, but only by one point now.
Next race is Sunday at Las Vegas.

Dale Jr. took the lead on the first lap and held it until he chose to pit a bit earlier than most at lap 45, of 267, and he narrowly avoided going a lap down, Kurt Busch wasn't as lucky, as the first caution came out as they were in the pits for Timmy Hill hitting the wall. Junior made it ahead of leader Kevin Harvick when he exited pit row, but Kurt didn't, putting him a lap behind. Dale Jr. led the first almost all of the first 70 laps of the race of this race which was at times affected by 15 mph winds on the track. Lap traffic was something to deal with during long green flag runs, as well as some debris which stuck on Tony Stewart’s grille, costing him a few places before he could get it off. David Reutimann has issues on lap 72 bringing out a caution that helps David Ragan lead some laps as he stayed out on the track. This is when Dale Jr. finally loses the lead and he falls back to 16th as he took 4 tires while all those ahead of him, other than Ragan, only took 2. Another long run had Jeff Gordon, who had also taken 4 tires and lost track position last pit stop, coming in at lap 119, starting the next round of green flag stops, which has everyone pitting by lap 125. Travis Kvapil's engine blew on lap 127, having him leave the race and Kyle Busch back to the pits with some collateral damage. Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson took turns in the lead, with Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick hanging with that lead pack. Lap 173 has more green flag pit stops starting and they ended with lap 179. Laps 204 and 224 had debris cautions. Lap 244 had Landon Cassill, Travis Kvapil's team mate, blowing his engine and the leaders didn't pit on this caution. Brad Keselowski who worked his pit stops to get to the front had a horrible restart and fell like a rock through the pack. It had become a case of Jimmie Johnson trying to track down Tony Stewart for the lead at this point. Lap 254 has Kurt Busch blowing a tire from debris and crashing, out of the race. Right after the restart his brother Kyle also gets a flat tire and spins out taking some damage and bringing out another caution. Restart with 4 to go and this proves bad for Matt Kenseth as Rousch Fenway drivers, Kenseth, Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards battled for top 5 position, with Kenseth getting squeezed back then sucked into the wall by a passing Kasey Kahne, messing up a day where he ran top 5 almost the entire race. Tony Stewart holds off a great run by Jimmie Johnson to take the win.
BxBarracuda had the race winner and the #5 and #6 finishers on his squad for his 2nd HoF in row with 126 points and Denny Hamlin cooled off a bit, which hurt George95's team and had him taking the spoon this week with 86.
Gtho4 holds his lead over ozzz2002 by 4 points now and Bx moves into third. Illiniman14 and srini701 had the same drivers in their top 3 and we had the first tie of the year. Howie72 pulled out of last place with a 2nd place finish this week and George95 took the bottom spot, but it's still very early in the season. Kasey Kahne is looking like last year’s Jamie McMurray, a non-chase driver a lot of us have picked to do big things this year, but hasn’t quite gotten it all together yet, as he has last year.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 125 points, and he has finished in the top 5 every race so far.
Next race is Sunday at Bristol.

Bad news for a bunch of our tippers as early in the race, lap 24 of 500, Regan Smith went high side to pass Kasey Kahne, Kasey closed it off late, they made contact, Kahne spun out low on the track ended up swinging back up onto the track causing damage to others that ran into him. Kahne's car looked done for the day, though he would eventually get back on track, Marcos Ambrose ended up in the garage, as did Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards, while Kevin Harvick took damage but stayed on the track. Pit row didn't even open until lap 40. They restarted on lap 46 and canceled the lap 50 mandatory pit stop that had been scheduled for lap 50. Lap 96 had a surprise as Brian Vickers, who is raced in Mark Martins car for his first action of the 2012 season, passed A.J. Almendinger for the lead. Lap 115 had the #32 of Ken Schrader into the wall bringing out a caution. Following the early wreck, which took some of today's favorites out all was relatively quiet through the halfway point, at which Brad Keselowski was leading. Green flag stops started shortly after the midway point. On lap 340 David Stremme hit the wall and brought out a caution. Tony Stewart grabbed the lucky dog on that caution to go back on the lead lap, Brad Keselsowski, who was just behind Regan Smith and got bumped by him when the big wreck on lap 24 happened, was still in the lead. Lap 363 has team mates Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. racing hard for 5th place and bumping, Jr. slid up the track and the exhaust pipes on his car cut down one of Gordon's tire, causing Jeff to wreck and end his day. With 22 to go Tony Stewart has some issues and he hit the wall bringing out a caution, but he stayed on the lead lap. Dale Earnhardt who was running in the top 3 was flagged for speeding on pit row and had to go to the back of the lead lap line. At the end of the day Brad Keselowski is your winner.
Only Howie was fortunate enough not to have a driver in that early wreck, as the rest of us had either 1 or 2 drivers involved. Having his drivers avoid that early wreck to helped him take the HoF this week with 112 points. Illinman14 and Leo DaVinci had two drivers in the early wreck and ozzz2002 had one driver in that wreck along with Jeff Gordon who wrecked later, that led to the three of them sharing this week’s spoon with 72 points.
BxBarracuda the only other tipper other than Howie72 to crack the 100 point mark used that to propel himself to the season lead.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 157 points.
Next race is Sunday at Fontana.

x The week started with Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus and Hendrick Motorsports getting a big win, as the 25 point penalty on Johnson and Chad Knaus's 6 race suspension were both lifted by the Chief Appellate Officer of NASCAR. On another note, I am not sure how this will help him come race day, but Carl Edwards was in Fort Worth, TX during the week training with the local SWAT team along with Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage. Carl did rappelling and a hostile environment simulation, while Gossage did some live fire exercises and played a hostage that was rescued. The drivers will be at Texas in 3 weeks for the Samsung Mobile 500.
Early on it was smooth running under a cloudy sky, as Kyle Busch led all but the first lap through green flag pit stops which started on Lap 34, of 200. Tony Stewart was the other story of the early part of the race as he aggressively drove himself into second place using the dive-bomb technique on both Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin. The next set of green flag pit stops started on Lap 68 and there hadn't been any cautions up to that point. Jamie McMurray had a lug nut issue on this stop and had to repit. Tony Stewart finally grabbed the lead on lap 86. The next group of green flag pit stops started on lap 102 just past the halfway point. Keselowksi was too fast entering pit row, so he had to do a drive through, the fourth such driver of the day. Jeff Gordon pitted last, stretching fuel, but trying too hard to get back on the track and the most possible fuel on his pit stop, that he dragged his fuel can past the white line, which meant a drive through penalty. Lap 123 brought the rain that had moved slowly toward the track all day. Tony Stewart faked going to pit row, but pulled out at the last second and Kyle Busch followed him to stay out. Matt Kenseth got a pit row penalty that time from an issue with a tire. Out of nowhere Jimmie Johnson's car started smoking while making caution laps, Johnson ran in the top 5 most of the day. Denny Hamlin, who was running third, pitted and ended up coming out of the pits in 11th place. The race was red flagged at this point due to rain and eventually called with the results as of the red flag official, since they had run half of the race already.
BxBarracuda made it 3 of 5 HoFs for this early NASCAR season, winning this week's with 119 points. Howie took his third wooden spoon of the year with an 85.
We scored our highest average with 106.7 this week, as three popular drivers, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Martin Truex Jr. all scored top 10 finishes. Our average would have been higher but 4 people, including HoF winner Bx, dropped this week’s second place finisher Kyle Busch just before this race. Bx increased his overall lead moving it up to 26 points now.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 195 points.
Next race is Sunday at Martinsville.

Brian Vickers strong showing a couple of weeks ago at Bristol, driving Mark Martin's 55 car for Michael Waltrip Racing, has earned him 2 more races this year, on top of the 6 he was slated to race following his signing after the season started. He will be racing in the road courses at Sonoma and Watkins Glen as well as the 2 Bristol, 2 Martinsville and 2 New Hampshire races. He qualified 6th this week and started next to Ryan Newman in the third row. Martinsville is the track where Vickers and Matt Kenseth got into it last year, where a frustrated Kenseth had a faster car being blocked by Vickers and spun Vickers out, later Vickers spun himself out going after Kenseth and then two weeks later he did purposely spin Kenseth out, not making him too many friends in the NASCAR world.
Kevin Harvick jumped to the early lead, outracing pole sitter Kasey Kahne and led the first 21 laps. The big mover and shaker early on was Jeff Gordon who kept moving past cars, on a track where it is not that easy to get around cars, and by lap 21 he had taken the lead as all in front of his 9th place starting position saw Gordon's car was that much faster early on. On the flip side Denny Hamlin, who started third, was sliding backwards and Brian Vickers couldn't seem to get his car inline on the low side and was also moving back in the field. By lap 70 Kevin Harvick was having handling issues and Denny Hamlin had figured his out, Harvick was moving backwards, while Hamlin was moving forward and Brad Keselowski was the driver trying to track down Jeff Gordon from 2nd place. Kyle Busch brings out the first caution around lap 100, which sent most of the cars in for their first pit stops. Johnson and Newman get penalties for exiting and entering pit row respectively. Busch went to the garage with a track bar issue that caused him to hit the wall hard. Dale Jr. moved from 14th to the top ten and by Lap 150 was battling Clint Bowyer for 3rd. Lap 203 has Brian Vickers with flames coming from the back of his car and it not keeping up track speed. Lap 220 had Jr. taking 2nd place from Denny Hamlin, and 9 laps later he took the lead from Jeff Gordon, last year Jr. was leading when Kevin Harvick tracked him down with 4 laps to go. Lap 231 has green flag pit stops starting. Shortly after Dave Blaney hits the wall, he had slid up into the marbles, bits of tires that come off the cars as they go around, the lap before and because he picked up those marbles he spun out on his own and hit the wall. On lap 164 Kenny Schrader gave a hard bump to Juan Pablo Montoya and when Montoya's steering locked up as he tried to adjust from the hit, he went into the soft wall below the track bringing out another caution. Kasey Kahne's woes continue as on lap 318 he had smoke coming from the car and he spun out heading to pit row. The leaders all came in on the caution, Brad Keselowski got flagged for speeding leaving pit row, to try and edge out Jr., and he ended up at the back of the lead lap line. Yes, we there was an April Fool’s joke played by Carl Edwards as he kidded his crew chief, that he had a broken transmission. Jimmie Johnson fought back from a starting spot outside the top 20 and the pit row speeding penalty to take the lead. Travis Kvapil was the next to spin out and pit row opens on lap 364, which could leave room to make to the end from here and Denny Hamlin makes it off first. David Reutimann was fighting flat tires and oddly didn't go to pit row when he had the chance and he stops on the track, which brings out a caution with only 4 laps to go, while teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were racing neck and neck for the lead. Gordon leads Johnson to green, unbelievably Ryan Newman bumps Clint Bowyer hard and Bowyer is forced to dive bomb Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson on lap 503 right off the restart and Bowyer and Johnson spin out, while Newman takes the lead. Under caution 7 laps past the regular finish Jeff Gordon runs out of fuel, so the two best cars and drives have been taken out of the race for the win, first due to Reutimann's poor decision, which he may be penalized for the Bowyer/Newman reckless decisions. The race finishes on Lap 515 with Ryan Newman winning the race. What a mess. Jr. finishes in the top 3 for the 2nd year in a row at the Martinsville spring race and Aric Almirola gets his best Sprint Cup finish of the year with a 8th place finish.
LeoDaVinci takes the HoF this week with 115 moving him to his highest position of the year. Illiniman14 takes the spoon with 93 and slips to his lowest spot of the year.
6 of the 9 of us all scored between 100 and 105 and this was the closest margin this year between HoF and wooden spoon. Bx had his lead cut by gtho4 from 26 to 22.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 224 points.
Next race is at Texas in two Saturday's

Yeah 515 laps, Martinsville is a short track though, as compared to some of the others.
I have tricks to be able to keep up with the action.
Normally I am on the computer doing something and more listening then watching the race, but if something interesting happens I pay attention and write it up.
I also have DVR, which allows me to rewind live T.V. up to 1 hour.
So I can be doing any numbers of things in the house, yard, or catching up on other live or recorded T.V. shows. Then every now and then, go to the race and rewind back to the last point I was watching, then jump 30 seconds at a time, stopping if anything interesting is going on, essentially catching up with a whole hour of the race in under 10 minutes.
Or if I am no where near a T.V. when the race is on, certain sites have lap by lap summaries, which I can use if needed to highlight what parts I thought were important.

Yeah 515 laps, Martinsville is a short track though, as compared to some of the others. That means that the entire track is less than one mile. Most of these races are "(Insert name here) 400/500/600" because that is the number of miles traveled in a race.

In off track news Carl Edwards made it into former girlfriend, and Olympic Gold Medal swimmer, Amanda Beard's new book. She portrays him as self-absorbed, jealous and controlling. Carl had few comments on the relationship which lasted from 2005 - 2006, but did say he was surprised and added few short but nice comments about Beard. Denny Hamlin used the week off last week to caddie for eventually Masters winner Bubba Watson during the Par 3 Tournament at Augusta.
Not everyone is buying it but David Reutimann's reason for staying out on the track and causing the finish to be a catastrophe, except for Ryan Newman, was to stay in the top 35. Why is the top 35 so important? It's because the top 35 cars automatically qualify for the next race.
They made it to lap 47, of 334, before green flag pit stops with pole sitter Martin Truex Jr. dominating the early part of the race. The first caution came out at lap 67 for debris on the track. Something the drivers had to watch out for in the turn 4 was a 40 mile an hour wind affecting the cars, which also caused cars to get trash on their grills more often, which becomes an overheating worry. On lap 95 Trevor Bayne ran up the track into the wall and brought out the second caution. Carl Edwards double pitted at this point as there were questions if all the lug nuts were in place. Jimmie Johnson had the lead as of lap 143 when green flag stops started. Brad Keselowski developed engine issues and was racing way off the pace after being in the top 10. Tony Stewart was racing in his back up car and not having a good time of it, mostly staying outside the top 20. They made it caution free to green flag pit stops again which started on lap 185. Lap 232 had status quo and the next round of green flag stops, Jimmie Johnson was leading with Greg Biffle, Martin Truex Jr., and Matt Kenseth being in the top 5 along with him for most of the night so far. It was all clear though lap 281, with Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon, the biggest mover of the day, crashing the top 5 party. The drivers set records for the most green flag laps in a row at a Superspeedway, with over 200 in a row, least cautions 2, and fastest average speed. Marcos Ambrose who was running 8th ran out of fuel on the last lap, and ended up in 20th. Greg Biffle extended his points lead as he won the race.
Last week the HoF was won with 115, this week 115 would have tied for 7th place and been below the group average. We had our best week led by srini01 with a near perfect 130 , of 132 possible, points and Sypher, gtho4 and ozzz2002 all scoring over 120 points. Last weeks HoF winner LeoDaVinci was this weeks only tipper under 100, with a 91 and that entitled him to this weeks spoon.
Srini's HoF moved him back into 3rd place, bumping ozzz down a notch. LDV's spoon sent him tumbling back to 8th place and gtho continued to chip into Bx's lead, cutting it down 4 more points to 18 now.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 271 points.
Next race is at Kansas next Sunday

In off track news Champion Tony Stewart and other greats from last year were hosted at the White House by President Obama, who is looking for his first chance to race one of the cars himself.
Pole sitter A.J. Almendinger led the first 44, of 267, laps of the 2 and 3 wide driving at Kansas. They made it to the first round of pit stops without a caution and unfortunately for race leader A.J. Almendinger he ran out of gas on the track and had to coast into the pits, losing spaces. Lap 52 has Clint Bowyer spinning while trying to get to pit road due to an engine problem and bringing out a caution. Martin Truex Jr. takes the lead now, one that he will hold for 173 laps on the day. Clint Bowyer had to go to the garage where they disconnected one of his cylinders, so he was running on 7 instead of 8 once he got back on the track and eventually those 7 gave way and he was done for the day. Kevin Harvick, who was running in 2nd place, ran out of fuel on lap 88 just before the next round of green flag stops. Kasey Kahne also ran out of fuel on the track, and this was very odd for anyone, much less 3 cars to run out of fuel on the track this early in the race. Jamie McMurray started the next round of green flag pit stops and a caution came out right after, which wasn't good news for him, but he did stay on the lead lap. At lap 173 the next round of green flag pit stops started. Montoya brought out a caution on lap 189, which brought the leaders to the pits, hoping to be able to make it to the end with one more pit stop. Ryan Newman made an unexpected pit stop and almost ended up with Carl Edwards in his back seat. It was still green on lap 221 as pit stops started. On lap 232 Denny Hamlin, who was running 2nd most of the day, finally overtook Martin Truex Jr. for the lead. Jeff Gordon made an unscheduled pit stop at lap 247, making him the first driver 1 lap down when he left pit row. Martin Truex Jr. had one chance for a dive bomb move, but with track so wide, he wasn't able to shake or overtake Denny Hamlin, who took the win.
Srini stuck with his HoF winning team from last week and it paid off with another HoF. Howie took his 4th spoon of the year with 93.
Gtho4 inched one point closert to Bx's overall lead, Sypher moved to his highest mark of 4 and George pulled himself out of the basement this week.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 310 points.
Next race is at Richmond on Saturday

In the Nationwide series it was a banner day for the Busch brothers Friday night. Kyle Busch got his first win as a car owner and it was his brother Kurt who drove the car into Victory Lane.
Mark Martin led the first 29 laps before giving the lead up to Carl Edwards. Jeff Gordon had early issues with car handling and started falling back early. Due to rain earlier in the day NASCAR had a scheduled caution on Lap 50. Jeff Gordon got loose in traffic right after the caution was over, getting into Kurt Busch and Greg Biffle and Jeff had to pit again for a flat tire and went 2 laps down. Tony Stewart and Jimmy Johnson started their charges to the front after the caution. After the bad wrecks early on in the season with the new cars, it has been a much different and safer story. Lap 117 had Kurt Busch spinning out in turn 4 and bringing out the 2nd caution of the day. Paul Menard's crew got into some hot water with the officials when a tire got away and one of the crew ran into pit road, where he could have been hit by another driver to retrieve it. The midway point, Lap 200, was the starting point for green flag stops, and was also the time for Tony Stewart to take the lead from Carl Edwards. Lap 227 had a caution come out for debris on the track. Kevin Harvick had handling issues and went to the pits early on lap 298 and the current leader was Kyle Busch. Lap 310 had another caution, this one when Jeff Burton hit the wall, as Jimmie Johnson was making his green flag stop late, only Carl Edwards hadn't made his yet. Though Johnson made it the lead off of pit road, he had a penalty for his crew rolling instead of carrying a tire at least half way to the wall. There was another issue for Carl Edwards as he was black flagged for passing Tony Stewart when Tony spun his tires before the restart line while Stewart was in the lead, so Edwards and Johnson ended up at the back of the lead lap, which was around 15th. No crashes, but a lot of little things effected the race. Johnson recovered and started moving up after the restart, while Edwards went backwards and ended going a lap down. A.J. Almendinger, who was running in the top 10 most of the night, also slid back and ended up a lap down late in the race. With 14 laps to go debris on the track caused a restart and had Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch starting at the front of the two lines. Kyle Busch pulled away from Dale Earnhardt Jr. even before Dale had some brake issues with 3 laps to go. Kyle Busch's season may have just turned around this weekend, as he wins tonight's race to go along with his owner win last night. After the race it was learned that at the time of the black flag there was some confusion between Carl's spotter and an official as to who was the leader, if Carl had been the leader, he wouldn't have been black flagged.
Reigning champion Illiniman14 let’s everyone know it’s still early and he will be a force to be reckoned with this season as he takes the HoF this week with a 123. Sypher hit a snag as he took the Wooden Spoon with an 85.
Srini didn’t make it 3 HoFs in row, but he moved up the ladder, taking over 2nd place and Bx was able to add a handful of points to his overall lead.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 338 points but Dale Earnhardt Jr. is breathing down his neck with 333 points.
Next race is at Talladega on next Sunday

Though I was only about 30 miles from the racetrack on the Sunday it was ran, I didn't have my notepad handy so no in race commentary this week. I will say the race teams, and ESPN, get their trucks packed up and on the road in less then an hour after the race, heading for the next race.
Mark Martin didn't drive the 55 car this week, Michael Waltrip did, so Illiniman14 got the points for Waltrip's finish.
Gtho4 takes the HoF this week with 113 and LeoDaVinci had the spoon with 78.
Gtho continues to play leap frog with srini for 2nd place as he leaped into the spot for this week, Illiniman was 2nd this week and continues his climb and is up to 5th now.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 378 points.
Next race is at Darlington on Sunday

Short write-up this week as I was still on the road, in the neighborhood of the Bristol, TN racetrack this time. Jimmie Johnson got the win, Denny Hamlin continued his turn around year with a 2nd place finish, reigning champion Tony Stewart was third, Kyle Busch continued his recent surge with a 4th place finish and Martin Truex Jr. also continued his great driving with another top 5.
LeoDaVinci takes the HoF this week with 124 and Howie72 had the spoon with 91.
Gtho is now only 4 points from leader Bx, Srini is only 5 points behind him while Illiniman continues his climb and quest to defend his title.
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 411 points.
Next race is at Charlotte in 2 weeks on Sunday.

The Coca Cola 600 opened their Memorial Day tributes with the U.S. Army Color Guard presenting the flag, the invocation from Darrell Waltrip, followed by "Amazing Grace" played by a fire department bagpipe group, a 21 gun salute, followed by "Taps, the "Star Spangled Banner" was being sung by Darius "Don't call me Hootie anymore" Rucker and a B-29 flew over the track.
Aric Almirola surprisingly took the pole and led one of the early laps, but was only able to hang with the Sprint Cup veterans for about 10 laps. Marcos Ambose and Greg Biffle led most of the laps up until the first green flag pit stops which started around lap 44. There were green flag pit stops again in the 80's, with the first two cautions, both for debris, coming at laps 113 and 134, with only Jeff Gordon staying out on the second caution. Lap 148 had Carl Edwards pitting because of a loose wheel and going a lap down. The leader at lap 150 was Kyle Busch, with Jimmie Johnson & Greg Biffle close behind. Jeff Gordon had to pit around lap 170 just a couple of laps later Travis Kvapil hit the wall and brought out a caution, and Gordon got back on the lead lap as the lucky dog. A.J. Almendinger, who had almost hit the wall twice, ended up going back to the garage so they could find out what was wrong. Lap 179 has another debris caution. Lap 218 started the next round of green flag pit stops. Marcos Ambrose had something go wrong under the car and his extra-long pit stop, which soon led to him going back to the garage, dampened what had been a great day up until then for him. Like his teammate Carl Edwards earlier, Matt Kenseth had to come back in for a loose tire issue after pitting a hand full of laps before. The next pit stops were green flag and on this one Brad Keselowksi has been leaving his pit stall as Tony Stewart was entering his pit box right in front of Keselowski’s, Keseloswki tapped the rear of Stewart's car and spun him around causing Tony to do some fancy maneuvering to get into his pit box, but he ended up 1 1/2 laps behind. Lap 300 brings the start of the next green flag stops, while lap 318 brought out a caution for debris. Hamlin & Earnhardt Jr. are the only lead lap cars to stay out and Hamlin takes the lead after the restart, but is soon over taken by Kasey Kahne who powered to the front after the caution. Kasey Kahne led the last 100 laps and took his third career Coca Cola 600.
Illiniman takes the HoF this week with 124 and LeoDaVinci gets to triple digits but takes the spoon with 100.
Bx got a little more breathing room and moves to 14 points ahead of ghto
Current NASCAR points leader is Greg Biffle with 453 points.
Next race is at Dover in on Sunday.
