There is nothing more satisfying than beating a Doggies fan ..  Amen to that! Alas, as a Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles fan all my life I've had to endure taunts and heckling from those without the good taste with which I was blessed. And Lordy, Collingwood is my team in the AFL. It's amazing anyone talks to me Even my best friend (a devout Manly fan) is a Blues supporter!

After winning the NRL tipping comp against my real life triv mates (all three of them men and all Doggies fans) I'll have crack at this year's comp here. I fear last year might have been a flash in the pan though There is nothing more satisfying than beating a Doggies fan .. Well.............unless it's 3 Bulldogs fans and a couple of Manly fans.

Welcome to NRL 2012, and welcome to a few debutantes- MikeMaster99, Tizzabelle, George95 and har28low. Hope you enjoy your stay here for the next few months. We had 19 tipsters, which is a huge amount for this comp!
2012 started with a bang, with several tight games. We have joint leaders, with a very impressive 7/8- one of our old-timers in LeoDaVinci and a newbie, MikeMaster99.
In a widespread field, our first spooners are Howie72 and paper_aero. I am sure that both these blokes will improve their position very soon.

All out, all change! Not one player stayed where they were last week.
har28low tipped the Cowboys to beat Brisbane, in Brisbane, and deservedly got himself a HoF AND the outright lead.
There was an outbreak of Spoonitis, spread across all ranks, with seven players only scoring 3/8.

The left hand columns refer to your position this week (TW) and last week (LW). Hi-lo is your highest position/lowest position in the comp so far.
The right hand columns refer to the current week's scoring and last weeks total score, giving a cumulative score for the life of the comp.
HF = Hall of Fame- the highest weekly score(s)
WS = Wall of Shame - the lowest weekly score(s)- aka the Spoon.

A couple of upset losses and some hard-to-pick rounds saw some low scores in the tipping department. Only two players managed to beat 50/50, with Davjack and illiniman14 both picking 5/8.
Quite a few got 4/8, with the rest of us spooning in at 3/8.

Souths beat Canterbury, and only BxBarracuda saw that coming. Cronulla held St George scoreless for the first time since 1973, in another sorta upset. The unpredictable Sharks have now won four straight.

Only two people retained their position from last week, and one of them is our leader, MikeMaster who is beating off challenges from all directions. Sypher picked 7/8 to jump back into equal first.
Tailenders paper_aero and Howie72 also tipped well and are closing the gap.
Spoons were reluctantly accepted by illiniman14, FussBudget, Eraserhead and MrFox.
