Any Luther Vandross fans out there?

Hope you're not saying "oh no, not that Astrix again". LOL

I love Luther's voice - so mellow and relaxing. Can't you just imagine that fire crackling in the fireplace, chilled white wine in glasses, shoes kicked off, and you're curled up on the couch together with your honey while Luther's voice is singing softly in the background. (sigh)

I own only one cassette by him - "Songs". It is a great tape. He does a wonderful job singing songs that were hits for others:

Astrix, when I mention music I look forward to your posts because you know every lyric to every song and now I'm starting to think that you know every artist. I think you are way toooooo cool, Astrix. Now when it comes to Luther, I think I know every word to every song of his.

I think I own every piece of music that Luther Vandross has recorded. I think that most of his music is sexy and romantic. Other songs just make me want to get up and dance, dance, dance. Maybe we can get together tomorrow and sing a song together like we did with the motown songs.

Yep...a Luther fan here as well. I have seen him in concert and he was brilliant. I have several of his albums and I do like the early eighites stuff of his..like 'Give me the Reason'.
I also like Alexandra O'Neal...same time and same kind of music.

Oh Sypher, I am sooo jealous. I have been wanting to see him in concert for ages. I also love the song 'She Don't Mind' and 'Any Love'.

I saw him in the late Eighites at Wembley. then the following week I saw Billy Ocean at Hammersmith and then Alexandra o'Neal at Wembley. What a great week

I don't get to go to many concerts now as there aren't that mnay great artists left. I don't want to go see a teeny-bopper band so I will just wait. The last big concert I went to was to see Pink Floyd...that was fantastic.

Man oh man, I agree with you there. The last great concert I went to was to see Joe Cocker and was he ever at his best. I love his new music just as much if not more than his older songs. I really love the song, 'You Can Leave Your Hat On'. His band can jam. I also loved to see the Allman Brothers, are they ever cool.

I done a gig the other week, when someone asked for 'Leave your hat on'...I said no problem...then they said.."Yeah, great..Tom Jones is brilliant." I nearly choked and told her he wasn;t the first, she didn't believe me, so I played the Joe cocker version and she said that was better. Plus...one of the guys at this party done a full strip to it..he had some guts to do that !!

I wish I could have been there. I have a sexy dance that I like to do the music of 'You Can Leave Your Hat On' but I would never do it in public. They would probably start throwing things at me and it wouldn't be money. (giggle)

I love Luther too! My favorites are: So amazing, If only for one night, A house is not a home. Mostly the stuff from the 80s.

I think my favorite song is 'Stop To Love'. It is hard for me to pick a favorite song. I think I own every single piece of music that Luther ever put out. Did you see him on television last night on Smokey? He was better than ever.
