What is the worst song you have ever heard in your life? For me this tends to change a lot, but right now it is "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. However, I love their new song, "Between Angels and Insects."

I really don't like listening to anything by the Irish group "The Coors" although I can tolerate their songs if sung by somone else.A track I am starting to despise just now is SURVIVOR by Destiny's Child because it is being played all the time , on the radio, on MTV, it's even coming through my walls from my neighbours sometimes.

I'd have to agree with you there, Ruthg - playlists on British radio are soooooooooooooooo short!! I often here a song when it first comes out and think it's great but then listening to it 10 times a day on the radio spoils it. Current artist out of favour with me (although thank goodness she doesn't seem to have released a second single here yet) is Nelly Furtado - can't stand the nasal pitch of her voice!

but hegley, Furtado is awfully hot. Certainly that should count for something. I for one am sick and tired of "Amazing Grace". Talk about over-played!

I hate most top 40 bubble gum type stuff. But the one song I can't stand at the moment would have to be "Lady Marmalade" by Christina Agulera, Pink, Mya, Donner, Blitzen, Comet, and Cupid (Ok, I made those last few up) That song just grates on my last nerve. Indie"Punk rock Girl" Queen

All-time worst song for me has to be Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh. Urghhhhhhhhhhhh. In fact any of those really insipid love songs that sound like they haven't got an ounce of real passion in them.

If I had to come up with a general formula for most of the comments made (not all) I would say that we all despise music that has clearly been made to make money. Of course, all musicians hope to make a living with their music, but certainly the one way to be guaranteed success is to be inoffensive, while still appearing, on surface "rebellious". But make no mistake, inoffensiveness is the first part of the equation. How else can one explain the songwriting money maker Diane Warren? Or for that matter, how the "Titanic" soundtrack became the #1 Soundtrack of all Time, or how Elton John's pathetic career continues, even when he stoops to taking a song that had once been in honor of a dead adulterous drug-addict, and rewriting it to honor another dead woman who only rose to the public eye by schtupping a member of a "royal" family that wields so little power that they are considered a joke everywhere aside from their own country? No offense, my English friends. How else can one explain Eminem and John's duet at the Grammys?

Billy Gilman. He is way to small and annoying and in love with himself. Him and Britney Spears should get together.

Dire Straits. Anything by Dire Straits. Eeuugghh!! TLC "No Scrub's" is an excellent tune. So there. Do you think Shania Twain would have the nerve to say the above to the real Mr Pitt? I'd take that as an insult if I were him!

That Candle in the Wind Dianathon thing by Elton John. An example of a song that makes me want to leave the room... Also most nu-metal and the likes of Green Day who try to be punk but frankly aren't very good at it...

Tragedy by the Bee Gees, a real tragedy of a song. [ 08-04-2001: Message edited by: malizma ]

~boy bands ~it's raining men - any version of it. ~girl bands ~alicia keys' song thats played on the radio every 30 seconds. ~papa roach ~limp bizkit after 3 dollar bill y'all ~marilyn manson after he went all weird (i mean the fake breasts weird) ~any rap song that involves ho's ~really bad repeditive jungle ~really bad repeditive anything i think thats it. i dont know what the radio is like where you all live but theres this one (and i only listen to it because they play it at work) that they play that alicia keys song about 2 times an hour every hour. so for the record i used to like that song. most music isnt horrible until the radio plays it until your ears want to fall off.
