Frank Sinatra use to sing a song about his daughter Nancy, composed by a friend of his when she was a baby. I can't find the proper title. Does anyone remember its name.

Hey we take our welcomes seriously folks, don't we?

Wow, great . Haven't heard of that before (although I'm not that hot on music as it is). Oh yeah, my name really is Hamish (my Dad's Scottish and my mum likes Scottish names; my brother's name is Cameron and my sister's name is Cordelia ).

There's a Frank Zappa tune entitled "Martin Ikert's story" or something and another interesting chart, "Martin's Earthwatch" by James Taylor's quartet? Anyone know these?

Hamish for your sister Cordelia there's a Cordelia song as well.

How many of us went without personalized items as children? I always felt left out with key chains, licence plates and souvenirs, at least I had two songs!
Hamish you see?

By the way Maria, you should see my kids' rendition of Santana's Maria Maria with bandanas on their heads!

Heather I found it! My name song.
"Nancy With The Laughing Face"

Written by: Jimmy Van Heusen

Written by: Phil Silvers

Lyrics:

If I don't see her each day, I miss her
Gee, what a thrill each time I kiss her
Believe me, I've got a case
On Nancy, with the laughin' face

She takes the winter and she makes it summer
And summer could take a few lessons from her
Picture a tomboy in lace
That's Nancy with the laughin' face

Did you ever hear mission bells ringing?
Well, she'll give you the very same glow
When she speaks you would think it was singing
Just hear her say "hello"

I swear to goodness, you can't resist her
Sorry for you, she has no sister
No angel could replace
Nancy, with the laughin' face

Frank Sinatra sang it.

He he, Littleowl!!

Canada to India
Australia to Cornwall
Singapore to Hong Kong
From the West to the East
From the rich to the poor
Victoria loved them all
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria, 'toria
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria

So as an Aussie: I love you too!!

...Meanwhile, the closest I can get is "Corpus Christi Carol" - How tragic is that?

Christine, Vic Damone?
Otherwise like my brother, you'd have to settle for Kris Kringle.

...still searching for a name song....

Funnily enough, there are a few tanzen songs. but it is German for "dancing", so I suppose I shouldn't be too suprised!! (don't worry, it's a long story involving a ball, and open bar and a German tourist )

Anyway, will keep searching !

I can think of one. "Amber Cascades" by America.

It's the only song I've ever heard with my first name in the title. Dar Williams does a song with my name in it,but it isn't the title.

You know that old Herman Hermits song, Mrs. Brown You Got A Lovely Daughter? I heard that quite a bit until I got married-then my last name changed. So, if anybody's last name is/was Brown, you got that one. If you are daughter, of course.
