I'm a Cure fan and I find most of their lyrics touching. If I had to choose I would say "...it was the sweetness of your skin, it was the hope of all we might have been, that filled with the hope to wish impossible things..." Whenever I listen to it, I feel tears in my eyes! What about you? Is there a song that really touches you?

Mike and the Mechanics: "The Living Years" Say it loud, say it clear You can listen as well as you hear It's too late when we die To say we don't see eye to eye. Kenny Loggins: "wait a Little While" Wait a little while to welcome what your after Give it the time to find its way to you Soon as you no longer try You'll find it staring in your eyes Just forget it, when you let it, it will come to you."

It might surprise you, but my favorite lines are coming from a sisters of mercy song, called "some kind of stranger". here goes: all of my words are secondhand and useless in the face of this rhationale and rhyme and reason pale besides a single kiss... To my opinion, this is sooo true

I have no idea why, but I am touched by the smallest, most insignificant things. When my first boyfriend broke up with me, I didn't cry. When I heard the last line of "Beginning To See The Light" by The Velvet Underground ("how does it feel to be loved?"), I cried like a baby!! The thing of course being, it's not terribly touching to most people.... Here's a few more: quote: Perfect Day - Lou Reed It's such a perfect day, I'm glad I spent it with you. Oh such a perfect day, you just keep me hanging on...
quote: Dream Brother - Jeff Buckley I feel afraid and I call your name, I love your voice and your dance insane, I hear your words and I know your pain...
quote: Throw Your Arms Around Me - Hunters and Collectors And if you disappear out of view, you know that I will never say goodbye, And though I try to forget it, you will make me call your name, and I'll shout it to the blue summer sky
quote: Crying Time - Ray Charles They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that tears are only rain to make love grow, But my love for you could never grow no stronger, If I lived to be a hundred years old...
I'm going to stop now, before I start crying ! [ 11-12-2001: Message edited by: tanzen ]

"If only tonight we could sleep in a bed made of flowers, if only tonight we could fall in a deathless spell, if only tonight we could slide into deep black water, and breathe, and breathe... Then an angel would come with burning eyes like stars, and bury us deep in his velvet arms. And the rain would cry, as our facesslipped away, and the rain would cry... Don't let it end" The Cure

Couldn't agree with you more maggot. 'Uncle Bob', certainly pens some wierd and wonderful lyrics! Morrisey (The Smiths), is pretty 'out there' too. (I believe Furry quoted this on one of the song chains yesterday-Apologies for the 'plagarisation' Furry! Is that a word or did I just make it up?) There Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths And if a double-decker bus, Crashes into us, To die by your side, Is such a heavenly way to die, And if a 10 ton truck, Kills the both of us, To die by your side, Well, the pleasure, the priviledge is mine. Also, Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me - The Smiths Last night I dreamt, That somebody loved me, No hope, no harm, Just another false alarm, Last night I felt, Real arms around me, No hope, no harm, Just another false alarm, So tell me how long, Before the last one, And tell me how long, Before the right one, This story is old, I know, But it goes on, This story is old, I know, But it goes on. wez

Dear Katie, now that you understood what I mean by "touching" why don't you post a reply about a "touching" song? Ok, if you can't think of any give me one with the other meaning of "touching". "I touch myself" The Divinyls
