I find it kind of weird watching movies that have the same score composers. In particular, James Horner and Hans Zimmerman. Like most composers, they sometimes recycle sections of their earlier pieces with variations when composing new music. I'm perfectly OK with that, but when I watch "Braveheart" and hear music I remember from "Titanic" (I didn't see "Braveheart" until after "Titanic" came out) it kind of throws me off.

Similarly, when I was watching "Gladiator" again this evening I asked "Did the composer for this movie do 'The Rock,' too?" It turned out I was right, although I'm usually not too familiar with Zimmerman's work.

And it's not just their own work that gets used over. In the battle in "Gladiator" with the Barbarian Horde, the music played in the background is definately a variation of Gustav Holst's "Mars: Bringer of War" from "The Planets". Very suitable, however.

I'm really just wondering if anybody else hears these "ghosts" or if it's just me?
