I'm a huge fan of R&B, soul, and funk, especially the old school stuff. Who is also a fan and who are your favorite artists and groups from the old school? Here are my favorite old school R&B/soul/funk artists (in no particular order):

Marvin Gaye
Al Green
Earth, Wind & Fire
The Isley Brothers
Aretha Franklin
Diana Ross & The Supremes
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
The Temptations
The O'Jays
Stacy Lattisaw
The Jackson 5
Curtis Mayfield
Rufus & Chaka Khan
Bill Withers
James Brown
L.T.D.
Roger Troutman & Zapp
George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic
Con Funk Shun
Frankie Beverly & Maze
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes
Teddy Pendergrass
Barry White
The Spinners
...and a whole lot of others

Good grief! What an amazing selection! I'd say especially Parliament/Funkadelic, The Temptations and Marvin Gaye, but add Stevie Wonder for his "Innervisions" era stuff, Gil Scott Heron (If he's not a bit too jazzy) and Isaac Hayes.....Oh my! I've come over all funny! I want to dance!

Anyone seen the Little Richard doll this Christmas? He's pretty funny.
I can't see too many to add to that exhaustive list..
Stevie Wonder is a great performer.

Funny how we pass over the Jackson Five and yet they were a great group! We used to dance in the youth center with pool cues to them.
What a show they'd put on!
