This could have been posted under profound lyrics but can someone please tell me (it's driving me mad cos I can't find it (the actual record we bought or the words anywhere) and the Wife asked me the question:-

The Spinners (English Folk Group released a single entitled "Castles in the Air" (about deprived children) can anyone tell me
a) Whats the first line of the song
b) Where I can get the lyrics from.

If I could have them printed out by the 14th it would be a bonus.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

I think I found what you're looking for. If so, here is the first line:

"The bonnie, bonnie bairn, wha sits poking in the ase"

You can find the full lyrics atContemplator.com

Sorry Robmeister, thanks for trying, it's not the same song - all we can remember of the lyrics to the Spinners Song (Guessing it was late 1970's when it was released is the last line which is

"To help them build their castles in the Air"

After searching for hours I've got as far as-
first verse
Happy are the children who have railway's in the hall,
Paintings in the kitchen,
Stories when their small,
Friends that come and visit them
Ribbons for their hair -------

and I know it ends

Help them build their castles in the air

Please anyone complete the lyric!

I've also found it's track 7 of the Spinners in Concert (LP)
Anyone got it and can transcribe the lyrics for me.
