Hey, if we were to have a cosmic valentine's dance in the virtual space we share here, how about a set?
I mean who would play the songs, and what songs would you like to hear at a Valentine's day dance?

They could be from any time period, and the beauty of this big cosmic ball concept of the net, is that there's room for us all.

What a brilliant concept.Terry and I will definatley come along. After listening to a recently purchased c.d of Jools Holland and his rytham and blues orchestra something along that line would be nice, along with a mixture of romantic oldies.

You know, I never was into the school dance things unless I was playing at them, which I often was as I was in several bands. But we're looking at stuff that anyone can get up and dance to.
Doesn't have to be mushy! Who cares?
I'd dance to that silly Lou bega thing, "12345"
I had to host the parties at my job at the university here in Europe with all sorts of nationalities, after not going to any for years. It's a real crack up.
It's funny seeing how each nationality dances!

This is great; I can dance with anyone cuz I'm going stag. I feel like boogying to the Peanuts theme. Or anything by Floyd Cramer. Who spiked the punch?

How hard would it be to have a funky Valentines Party? You'd have to make sure that the couples got their little "couple songs" (I'm thinking "Something" by the Beatles, "Throw Your Arms Around Me" by Hunters & Collectors, "So Real" by Jeff Buckley - stuff like that. But then you'd have to make sure that the single kids are feeling too "single" (maybe some Monkees, maybe some Red Hot Chilli Peppers, party stuff that's not all about LURVE)

And then some Velvet Underground, some "Hair" some "Blues Brothers" and some other daggy obscure stuff. Why? Because it's my party!!!

Well well, you guys like my kind of dancing then! I just hate it when you have to ask for someone to dance with you!
Oh how about Hava Nagila? Or one of those dances in chains?
Hey, the Bunny Hop?

Slow dances? surely you gest war Wizard! My slow dance days are over.

Oh I know, how about those Slavic type dances where you cry out "Yeeps" and kick up your heels and put a scarf over the guy? Then they slap their heels and their chests and do the splits? There's a Georgian dance troupe making a real splash in Paris, I'd love to see it!
That looks like fun but I'd probably botch it up!

Guess I'm destined to be a wallflower.

Just some seriously fun swing music would be great. Some nice jazz ballads that are not too syrupy. My hubby and I went to a Glenn Miller Orchestra benefit like that last year and it was a blast !!!!! I vote for something like that !
