Somebody in here likes hard rock? When I say hard rock, I don't mean metal, I don't mean pop, ok? Any of you likes 'Disturbed'? Any of you likes 'Godsmack'? 'Linkin Park', 'Limp Bizkit', 'Papa Roach'? Talk freely here. Your favorite hard rock song? Or some of your favorite? Tell me... Personnally, I especially love Linkin Park's song 'With You'. Also Disturbed's song 'The Game'. What about you? [ 03-12-2002: Message edited by: aballinshadow ]

Hey, I'm generally a Metallica nut, but I like all the names you mentioned, along with Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Rob Zombie, and a lot more. Keep rockin'.

Ditto what the Dude said (sorry, Dude, too many u's! ) If we're allowed to say Tool (is that metal? I don't know!!) I would say "Aneama" or "Pushit". Otherwise Soundgarden "Pretty Noose".

I don't know if we can say that Tool is rock or metal. Let's say it's rock ok? My favorite song from Tool is 'Sober'.

...ah yes, "Sober" is a great song! On Undertow though, I would have to say my favourite song was "Prison Sex". I'm just going to add another one in and say System of a Down are also very cool.....

TANZEN You NEED to buy System of a Down's first CD. You won't regret it, believe me. By the way, System of a Down were in Montreal two days ago (Montreal is very near I live) and I went to the show. They were WONDERFUL!!!

I'm not sure what people consider Green Day to be anymore. I loved Warning. That CD was outstanding. Also Drop Kick Murphy's are kick azz. Zebra Head, Less than Jake, and any of the Hellcat Records CDs are real attention grabbers. But these are Punk bands wich are just a splinter genre of rock I suppose. I dont know what I would do without music!!

FALLAIR Green Day is punk. But, this kind of punk can be considered as rock too. Personnally, I don't know much about Green Day before the song 'Minority'. I know 'Minority', 'Warning', and 'Waiting'. If you consider these songs, you can say it's a little rock. ok,I don't like Green Day, sorry. Talk about Green Day if you like, I'm sure that there are many other people who likes them, but not me,sorry. However, I liked the song 'Minority'.

(I like Green Day, FallAir...) I think they were "punk" before they went more establishment-like with a record label contract and were then considered "sell-outs",,,,because punks don't do that!!!!

Green Day was my first real concert, back in '96 or '97 (when the "Insomniac album was out). Living End played support (I don't know if anyone knows them, they're an Aussie band). Ahhh, those were the days!! Back before either of the bands had sold out... Don't get me wrong, they both still rock, but they used to be a little more hard core, you know? Less commercial...

ahhhhhhhhh........every 'punk' gets a 'little commercial' in the end . It just takes some bands longer to get there than others. Take it from an original, tartan bondage trousered,(with 999 bum-flap), mohican wearing, Dr. Marten shod, punk from England circa 1976. (I think the only true punk band who didn't 'sell out' in anyway, shape or form were 'Crass', notable for such classics as 'Screaming Babies' and 'Big A Little A'.) Cancel that, 'CD Universe' are offloading albums for 10 bucks. I wonder if the band sold thier royalty rights? I'd rather they just gave them away! In the words of the 'uber-punk', Malcolm Mclaren...."Punk, the Great Rock and Roll Swindle".....God Save The Queen. Do you guys get the Kerrang music video channel. It's essential viewing for the serious connosieur of 'alternative' music. Of todays bands, I think Linkin Park are excellent. Great music and everything seems to gel so well with Chester's voice. People will tell you that they are sooooooooo mainstream. But hey......whatever lights yer candle. Like what you like for your own reasons. Also: Limp Bizkit(great tunes) Green Day Sum41 Blink182(although I'm sure I've seen the giving away cash video somewhere before? ) Godsmack Static-X Spineshank...................etc.etc ad infinitum. wez Anyone remember New Model Army?

Personnally, I'd like to add the following songs, that I LOVE! They are songs that I'm just beginning to hear on the radio. 'Faithless' by Injected 'Never gonna stop' by Rob Zombie... Someone knows that one? Terrific! 'One thing' by Gravity Kills 'Live again' by Sevendust and many others... I heard some oldies recently and I'd like to hear your opinion about these songs, if you know them. 'The final countdown' by Europe 'Ace of spades' by Motorhead 'Anarchy in the UK' by The Sex Pistols Anybody knows these songs? Someone's advice on these songs?

well now that you mention Motorhead and the Sex Pistols, and to a lesser extent Rob Zombie now your talkin my kind of Hard Rock, Most of the newer bands I've seen in this thread in my opinon have to much rap and hip-hop influence. Motorhead, Kiss, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Guns & Roses, Metallica, Megadeath, Slayer, Manowar, Ozzy, Dio, Judas Priest, Ted Nugent and not to forget the founding fathers of heavy metal, Led Zepplin This is the stuff of Hard Rock, try it I think you just might enjoy it.
