Thanks Sara, I've forgotten which picture I had ready but probably this one, the North Downs in Kent from a village called Pootings. But plenty more to follow through the week, it's easily got the best views I've come across anywhere in the country and keep finding more every time I go to Kent.

A relaxed Australian about to head into the Easter break! A koala in a gumtree (where else would you find one!) on Raymond Island in the Gippsland Lakes, Victoria.

Speaking of cool, yesterday we had no snow. This is what we woke up to at 5 a.m. (note, it was actually darker than this, but the camera decided to compensate and focus on the garage light lol).



It stormed until about 2 this afternoon. High winds, poor visibility, slush so deep you couldn't change lanes. Power was out in many locations as transformers were blowing up due to heavy snow (folks thought they were lightning flashes lol), not to mention numerous cars hitting power poles etc. Thankfully, it's warm enough during the day now (slightly above freezing) that the snow has a chance to melt if the sun comes out.. but sheesh, I could fully understand if Mother Nature was pulling another April Fool's joke, but come on, it's the 5th already! No more "surprises" okay? : )

Belleville has long been a railway town, as this monument in the Bayside Park makes clear. Inset in the path around the monument are commemorative stones, celebrating long service on Canadian Railways.

Here is moonrise on Good Friday night.

Are they still floodwaters, Jill, or is that a local lake? No moon here in Melbourne tonight, the heavens have opened.

Ren - They are penitents from the Brotherhoods that walk behind the "thrones - floats " that are paraded throughout the streets (they don´t belong to the KluKlux Klan). Those in the previous picture followed the "Throne" (images of Christ or The Virgin) in the picture below on Palm Sunday.



This throne is carried by 224 men, who parade throughout the main streets of Malaga carrying the platform on their shoulder for 6 - 7 hours. As you can see in the picture, the first man on the left has his head covered, he will do the whole route blindfolded as a promise or penitence, this particular man was also walking barefooted. On most days throughout the Holy week there is 7 - 8 Brotherhoods, that parade their floats, they usually start at dusk and don´t get back to their churches, till early hours in the morning.

Mike - Love the Koala, so peaceful up that gum tree.

Jake - All that snow makes me shiver, we are just about to start going to the beach, although the picture is beautiful.

Gees - Millie is just adorable .

Copago - Beautiful picture, it looks so peaceful.

Well it is a local lake, Mike, .. filled by floodwaters There's no constant stream into it and it sort of needs the Darling and the Paroo rivers to be in flood for it to fill. It is nearly full again and will last about four years. It's about 30ft deep out in the middle and is great for playing in.

Szabs, your Easter photos are beautiful. The processions look so elaborate - must be a sight to see.
