The Grand National is the world's most prestigious steeplechase and is on again on Saturday, April 14, 2012.

RULES

The rules are simple, and are the same as last year, and the year before, and the year before that...

- Pick 10 horses in the order you think they'll finish, 1st to 10th.

- Points: for any horse out of the 10 you've picked, which finishes in the first five:
1st : 10 pts
2nd : 6 pts
3rd : 3 pts
4th : 2 pts
5th : 1 pt

- The order of your tips will be used as a tiebreaker.


There are currently 48 runners, which has to be culled to a maximum of 40. Odds and form can be found HERE.

Out of 40 starters, only 15 horses finished. Most of those that failed to finish were the ones that we tipped!

We had nine players, and only three managed to have the winner in their ten picks. Second place was even worse with only one person getting the dough. No-one at all picked fifth place.

illiniman14 is this year's Grand National champion with szabs pushing BxBarracuda out of second, with the help of a tiebreak. They were the only three tipsters to break double figures. Four players actually failed to score!

Great job illiniman, the only one to get 3 horses in the top 5 and to szabs for picking the winner as your #1.

It was sad to hear that 2 horses including the favorite didn't make it off the track.

Not a bad way to start off the horse racing season, after this I might as well stop by the Derby (assuming it doesn't rain, as it always seems to). Thanks ozzz, and good job szabs and Bx - you two almost had the top 2 spots as I was very unsure about taking Neptune Collonges!
