I shall show the seedier side of gardens, the not to beautiful.

I just went to the garden centre for some weedkiller as the person who sorted my garden last autumn only buried perennial weeds so it is worse than ever. Whilst I was there I spotted a gadget advertised on telly here to uproot lawn weeds with minimum effort and no bending. As I have a back problem I decided, at great expense, to get one and give it a whirl.

This is the result after about five or ten minutes. So yes, they do work.

Christina can you tell me what the red flowers are at the bottom of the flower bed? Also what kind of plant are the large leafs near the bottom right. You are inspiring me!

Tori - the reds are - on the right geraniums and on the left nasturtims. The large leaf plants are gladioli. You should be able to grow all of these without any problem.

LDV - that is stunningly beautiful. Do you have an underwater camera or was it through glass at an aquarium or similar?

These are all beautiful (and well-behaved) gardens. I love the nasturtiums and sunflowers -- pure summer.

Raindrops dripping from a pot of fuchsia buds into the watering can. That just about sums up my lazy gardening skills - let nature sort it out.

Part of the newly restored walled garden at Cressing Temple Barns in Essex. The barns were built by the Knights Templar, but the walled garden is from Tudor times. Over the last three or four years Essex County Council have painstakingly restored it back to the original form, even down to having bee hives and chickens scratching around in the vegetable part of it.

I had borrowed an underwater camera and took a bunch of pictures, though taking a picture underwater is harder than you might think. Half of them didn't nearly come out as I expected them to.

This is a portion of my sister's garden, with their new fountain.

It's slightly nicer when >bigger< and here's >a close up<.

The perspective is a little deceptive because the grass rolls over a couple of hills down to the fountain (centre of the pic) (person standing at the bottom of fountain gives an idea of size) and I took this near the top of the steps - the view from the cafe. A fire left only the outside of the house still standing and now it is full of posh shops, but...

Just imagine living there and having that view every day over breakfast!
