I know I promise every four years that I will not mention this topic again, but I have weakened again. smile

The Games open on July 27, a mere 55 days away, and I am hoping to run a tipping comp for them.

I will probably use a similar model to Beijing. We will pick a variety of events, say 12-18, and use a 5-3-1 rating. Depending on the number of interested starters, everyone should have a chance to pick their favourite event.

Other details will be hammered out over the next few weeks and posted here- any suggestions will be welcomed.

Time to get this one rolling!

We have about a dozen starters so far, and I would imagine there will be a few more in the next couple of weeks, so here goes.

-Each tipster will pick an event and points will be a simple 5-3-1 format.

-A bonus point will be awarded if you tip the gold medalist in your selected event.

-Points will be awarded in finals only. Some events will have short turnaround times between heats/semi finals/finals, so we will all need to be on our toes.

-Each event will close as near as possible to the actual starting time.

-Contestants may be either individuals (eg, men's 100 metres freestyle) or teams (eg, Hockey).

Get your favourite event on the list now!

Find out more about all the different disciplines here.

Does your event have to be different to everyone else?

Welcome, kaddarsgirl. Everyone will pick three selections for each nominated event, and if they tip the gold medallist they get 5 points. Silver will get three and bronze will get one point.

And, yes, Sypher, you have to be different to everyone else. smile

Do you have to call which you think will take each of gold, silver, and bronze, or do you just pick 3 and it doesn't matter which medal they get?
